[HELP] Bikeshop fine because of quotation with other bikeshop

Hi asking on behalf of a friend.

 

He recently got fined 800 from a bikeshop because he went and quoted some prices from other bikeshops. He still has 1 month left till his COI ends. Is this ethical? I mean he's just asking around,no? Now the bikeshop asking him either pay the fine or trade his bike for another bike and COI again.

Sounds like BS. If wan to make sure, ask them to produce e legal document stating this clause with ur fren signature. It might be in e fine print but rarely used clause.

 

If unable to produce e document can tell them to write down black and white tat they wont play this type of trick else u just go to case. Now "lemon" law protects consumer. u cna bluff them u noe "lemon" law. ^^

That's the thing. When I heard it also I was like wtf! But my friend also i think he just signed papers without reading so now I'm asking him to read through his contract 1st before proceeding. Hopefully this nonsense will stop before it started. Can name names meh? Dont want to get in trouble myself

Just curious. Is it early settlement by any chance? Is it your friend want to sell to other shop then pay off the 1mth with current shop, that's why kena? If they fine him just for asking, then it's case for complaint. The sum of $800 smells like early settlement, cuz my friend kena before....

800 should early settlement fees to be bourne by other bikeshop if they taking your bike,

else no case (dunno which shop but be wary when signing on ANY dotted line)

I think its for early settlement.. The shop just wants you to continue making business with them.. But 800 for early settlement is ..

Well i learn my lesson after buying 2b bike from shop. Now if i wan to buy from shop and dun allow me to full cash or find my own loan then i will walk away.

 

There r many ways to get $ for a bike with lower interest as long as U R PREPARED. If u cannot discipline urself to set away $ to pay up e loan then dun do my way.
