considering all current 1000cc sportsbikes, japanese and italian, none of them gives the pillion a significantly different or 'more comfortable' riding position. the only thing you can do is make your pillion sit in the 'proper' pillion position. closed up with rider, thighs gripping rider, arms around rider's waist and palms flat against tank for support. any other position, whether sitting upright like on conventional bike or worse still on the rider seat, is either unsafe or significantly affects handling for the rider.

most of my pillions forced to sit this way don't complain of discomfort, and my bike's handing does not change significantly other than obviously requiring longer braking distance due to added weight. i also pillion-ride in this position and find it most 'secure'. then again, we don't go touring. if you or your pillion cannot handle even with this 'proper' pillion position, you really need to look at other categories of bikes.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

most comfortable for pillion is 1 that they don't sit on.

Depends what you want out of your bike. If you use it for track and value performance/handling, then your pillion will have to suck it up and bear with the pathetic pad they call a seat.

If you just ride it on the roads, maybe you need to admit that an all-out-bad-ass sports isn't such a good idea after all. Sports tourers are still plenty powerful and handles well, plus they are far more comfortable for both rider and pillion.

then you're not meant to pillion ride a sportsbike, period. the method i suggested was the best possible (IMHO) for both rider and pillion. rider does not feel major handling changes, pillion is most secure. any other position is worse for everyone. if the best possible is not comfortable enough, dun pillion a sportsbike. this is not meant to insult, its a statement of fact.

I think depend on the pillion.. What i mean is if the pillion find it comfy to her/him n the rider.. Den no issue for a sport bike.. As others had said earlier, a sport tourer category is the best for comfort...

I dun think u will ever find a sportsbike that is comfortable for a pillion. Sportsbike are built in a way that they perform best with just the rider, not with a pillion. The ergonomics of a sportsbike for a pillion is a worst nightmare. My wife used to hate my R1, but she adores my busa. I think its better to get a naked or a sports tourer since you're asking opinions for a pillion POV.
