2nd cbr600rr can range from 13-19k , depending on which yrit was registered . New cbr600 should be in the range of 21-23k depending on insurance n other factors .

It all depends on which bike u like . Different ppl have different likes . Wat i like may not be wat u like .

21yrs old should be arnd 1.6-1.8k .

Most ppl pay by instalments . Best set aside 3k & above as downpayment . Fyi , most shops charge new bikes interest rate of 4% per annum .

Wat i quote is 3rd party fire & theft a.k.a 2nd party . More advisable to get tis instead of 3rd party which onli cover basics . 2nd party is advised for new bikes as it covers fire & theft . 1st party is a bit too high .

M riding an 06FZ1 currently & is paid thru instalments .

for 21 yrs old u no choice have to swallow that kind of insurance rate for fairing bikes, no 2 ways about it. doesn matter what model sportsbike you choose. and if u pay instalment, dun think the shop will let u take 3rd party, minimum they will want 3rd party fire and theft to protect themselves.

a brand new 06 600RR shd cost machine price 18.5k to 19.5k, u want to wait until march to get the 07 600RR might cost 21k machine price. a 2nd hand 03 to 05 model might cost between 11k to 13k machine price. i think the older model 600F4i, side exhaust, will cost between 8k to 10k.

lets say u take brand new 06 model at 18.5k machine price and pull 5 years. expect to have to pay 3k downpayment and about 360 monthly for the next 5 years, inclusive of first year insurance. of coz, additional 1.6k for insurance annually after that. and before the "break even" point of about 2 years plus, u will not be able to push back to the shop, because u owe the shop more money than the bike is worth.

not forgetting, if u drop the bike, prepare fork out $120 for one handle bar, $55 for brake lever, etc etc, the parts are that kind of price range.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

for any sportbike above 600cc.get what u like & not what ur friends like.as they aint paying the insurance/installment for u.

in any case, none of the 600cc & above supersport will even work till 100% output.(unless u dun have a driving licence to be bother with la)

most of the time.those bike are just working 10~20% of it total output with respect to traffic laws.

I'm neither riding a CBR or Yammie.. But given a choice like this, I would say go for R6. IMO it the best 600 you can get now.

I will get a triumph 675~~:cheer:

dun think any shop will let u pull 6 year loan, 5 years max.

an early '03 model 600RR think can be bought with a 3k down and mid 200+ for 5 years.

if 3k down and not more than 200 for 5 years, think onli a second hand F4i side exhaust.

wa....6 yrs loan really alot ...u refering to which bike ? if i were to pay 200 per month...

So far I don't have any friends that own a class 2 bike with $200 +- installments ley. Unless you pay big hard cash for the downpayment, then might be possible.

Btw, have a friend who bought a new K5600 1 1/2 years ago at Teo Spray. His installment plan take 6 year ley.

I say, the Yamaha 06 R6.

Never sat on a 600 before, but the new R6 is definitely both a visual and performance killer. The R6 is slicker, more compact, slimmer. Voted the best bike in one of the motorcycle magazines. Definitely a more capable track machine. Friends who tried both the R6 and CBR had thumbs up for the R6. I guess if not for a price difference, everyone would go for a R6.

200 for budget is way too low to own a class 2 bike I guess. Unless you are going for those really old stuffs. I would suggest saving up more and put more downpayment, if possible try to clear one shot. Bikes under hire purchase have to take a mandatory insurance coverage of fire & theft. So if you can clear one shot, you can save alot by paying premium for just 3rd party coverage.

There is alot of difference between just 3rd party and fire & theft. E.g R1 fire & theft for 21 yrs old is 2k per annum, just 3rd party coverage is 800. Saving over 1.2k per year.

Besides, other than instalments, you still have to consider alot other expenses like petrol, road tax, maintenance, accessories and stuffs. Touch wood like what mechwira mentioned, drop bike, spray paint, repairs.

When all the bills come on due together, you will feel as if the sky's falling on you.

my budget for class 2 bikes a month is only 200+...my downpayment i also cant give alot...how arhz ? ? ? i only wan to take out R6 or the cbr600rr...isit possible ?

Maybe u can consider getting the older r6 models . CBR600RR is out of ur budget wif $200++ payments per mth .

Or u can save up more $ then down more to reach ur $200+ budget .

Hate to burst your bubble, but you cannot afford a class 2 sports bike. Period.

$200 per month is just enough to maintain a small single cylinder bike, not an in-line 4 superbike. It actually costs more to maintain a class 2 sports bike than a small car.

Save your money. Only get a big sports bike when you are financially ready.
