Almost accident in front of Temasek Poly...

last nite, i was riding along the road in front of Temasek Poly when i saw this 2 nuns jaywalking. I mean, got freaking huge TP bridge but still want to jaywalk... nvm... i slow down, wanting to let them pass... i was @ the middle lane. Then they stopped in between the 1st lane and the middle lane, waiting for me to go 1st i assume. They never moved as i was approaching so i thought they wanna let me go 1st. so i open throttle.

 

Then, when i was about 20 metres away from them, they moved! I freaking E-Braked sia!!!! and the two nuns then stood in the MIDDLE of the middle lane, open-mouthed, as if shocked. Luckily i managed to e-brake on time... argh.. if not... one HUGE problem for me... haiz... why muz pedestrians do this kind of thing.

 

want to jaywalk, primary sch got teach what... look left, look right, look left again... no vehicle then walk... apply that same principle... no harm... sianz...

 

Anyways, i watched so many channel 8 shows... they always show the nuns and monks can fly and fight one... how come cross the road dun want to fly....? maybe if i never e-brake on time, i get to see them fly up...? wahaahaha.. no offence... been watching too many channel 8 shows lah...

 

Fighting can fly about, then from one place to another muz walk... sianz... wahahaha

Nuns? Wait what? nuns? never have I seen any nuns crossin that road..Maybe they weren't nuns after all? Should've sounded your horn..These nuns sounds like those Bangladeshi workers crossin the roads..They won't cross until you're within their sight..And as you are about to reach them..They will dash across..Some sort of a game to them I think..Maybe a favourite extreme game played in their country? Ahaha..

Sometimes those freaking jaywalkers are like that... wanna walk slowly still jaywalk esp when vehicles are near. When vehicles slow to let them "continue" they stop in the middle of the road and see wat u do. lol. Really cannot see wat are they thinking. Next time we should juz on our hazzards and stop in the middle of the road and look at them ... nah that was a joke.... mebbie we can juz wave at them to get them to keep moving?

They're nuns lah... wearing the robes... shaven head.. and look like female... wahaha... if not, then they're monks... LoL...

 

i dun want to sound horn coz i was already slowing down for them to walk past... or better still, run past...

 

Maybe genez is right... shld have waved my hand @ them or something to signal that i am letting them walk first... will keep tat in mind...

The only bowling alley in singapore where the ball has to avoid hitting the jaywalking bowling pins

hmm, cos they recite sutra and pray to buddha everyday, so they think they protected from evil and danger, then they try to jay walk to prove that they are blessed by the buddha.

true! that whole stretch of little india towards bendemeer must haf been very familiar with my bike's horn. cos everytime i go there, SURE must horn and CURSE and SWEAR at the ppl crossing the road!!

bad experience. next time try going to serangoon road from selegie towards potong pasir on peak hours (mon-fri 6.30pm onwards, sat-sun whole day).

 

That's is when you will practise all your skills u acquired in the driving sch. You will definately master how to multiple e-brake, horning-like-mad-but-no-one-cares, high beam with pin-point accuracy, release a string of vulgarities.

The onus is on road users to "siam" pedestrians. They are the most vulnerable on the road, after us. Regulating out speed as we approach them can prevent many of these sticky situations. If we bang them, even its their fault the court will rule in their favour. We are the ones with the speed and brakes. Its by far easier for us to get out of their way and approach with caution, in case they slip and fall or leg cramp half way fall down, you really don't want to live the rest of your life knowing you killed someone when all it took to prevent the situation was a little self control, and a little road courtesy.
