30ml per 1 litre of distilled water. The coolant capacity is around 2.5litre.

It isn't really that troublesome. What do you think?

Probably this method is preferred for people who like me who likes DIY. Otherwise, let the experts @ motorshop to handle.

I am very ngiao person, so let's do that math. A bottle of premixed cost $20 or less but I dunno. Engine ice cost $35(whether include flush or not I dunno) and it can last a single flush only. A bottle cost $15 and it can last me at least 3 full coolant flush + a few bucks getting distilled water from mama shop + sense of satisfaction. :cheeky:

I had been using it for many years on all my bikes since 2005, previously using Maxima concentrated cooaide. All doing same cooling effect.

Cheers =)

i agree wif u bro, diy is an achievement...

i also jus diy-ed changing my coolant recently w maxima coolaide cus i lazy to go measure for the exact amount required...

maths sharing lesson...

1 bottle of maxima coolaide cost me $16 and i needed roughly 1.2 bottle of it for my radiator...

hence, i jus give it that it cost me $20 max...

for you, $15 for ur coolant, another $5 for your distilled water?

it's almost the same but you can use it 3 times...

but, if you mess up the mixture or the distilled water is not really that "distilled", then you're screwed, right? ;)

It doesn't get screwed that easily dude, unless tap water is used.

If the distilled water I bought is not really that 'distilled', I probably have to check for impurities with a microscope and go back to Cheers and ask for refund. :(

I really wonder how you flush the rad?

Using another coolant, Vineger, or tap water???

I just use tap water and flush till clean clean before add in coolant.

the only time i saw something extra is when using engine ice...(White powder)

I bought a bottle or radiator cleaning agent from a petrol kiosk, mix a few ml with tap water into the radiator, run the engine for about 10 minutes and flush out. However I do came across from some articles or forum that people do use vinegar and mix with tap water to flush the radiator.

2nd link petrol tonight? Any takers?

Hi! Guys,

WYSIM, What You See Is Mine. :p

As HL claimed that blue/white is for Europe market, I have to choose between black or white. So final selection is black. Many people like black but black is never my prefer colour. Didn't choose white as will be hard to maintain and bit cosmetic. TP would love it, haha...

I have been riding FZ1 Gen1 for 4 yrs plus now. My finding after riding FZ1 2010 for the past few days.

1) EFI engine is more responsive

2) Think engine more hot

3) Comfy riding position - I am 1.72m but seats is thinner

4) Hot area more as the previous steel tulubar is tube type, while this aluminium frame is almost 3 times the surface area on both thight area. Try not to wear shorts.

5) Really limited storage place below both seats.

Now thinking to fix top rack and box as very troublesome to carry 2 full face. So far never carry raincoat. Touch wood. :p. Already fixed the H&B crash bar on first day.

You guys recommend which brand for top rack & box? I am thinking H&B. Junior or Journey which is better? Last bike used Givi Maxima.

One day will meet up you guys for LKS. Long time never join. ;)

Cheers.

not yet ordered.. but will be getting from asphoon for sure..

saw 1 brand new blackie at HL yesterday.. nice plate number.. 4132 or something like tat.. :thumb:

for me, i jus flush the radiator with tons of tap water only, then tilled it 45° so that the water can be totally flush out (i think it's only like 95%-99% lo)...

vinegar can be used if your radiator is old and probably not well maintained here...

it helps to dissolve any stubborn foreign particles in it...

the white particle in engine ice is some kind of cooling agent...

do correct me if i'm wrong... :)

yup! with bone! wth right?

outcome of my tire: PERFECT till now with not a single cent of pocket burning (crossing fingers till morning)!

wad happened?

i did a pre-ride check 2 days b4 my last week's KL trip and nothing unusual happened...

when i reach KL city toll for a break, i noticed there's a small white patch on my bike...

after close examine, i discovered that it is a "nail", probably covered with some white concrete substance...

i did not pull it out straight in case my rhino-ed PR2 did not give me wad it should be, hence i jus stick with that till i got back SG...

when i'm leave KL back for SG, i did a tire pressure check and it dropped to 37psi from the initial 42psi...

it further dropped to 33psi on Monday and i immediately pump it back 42psi and arrange to go unique (since i got my rhino-ed PR2 from there) on my next available timing...

initial process?

reach there (half way ran into ah josh ), the mechanic tried to pull it out but invalid, tried to "gor-ed" it out but bits of it was "gor-ed" crushed into powder...

this is the point when i realized that it might not be a nail...

the mechanic still trying to "gor" my tire till the hole became bigger...

still can laugh at me and recommend me another set of tire... wth~!

i immediately ask him to stop doing wad he is doing and demand him to take out the whole tire from my rim and see wad is stuck in it...

this is the moment when i realized that it looks like a crushed/biten piece of a bone with sharp edges cus it looks like those that my cousin's dogs like to bite on and spit it out... knn~

remedy?

after pulling the bone out, this mechanic use his dirty fingers to rub onto my rhino, trying to make it seal up... wth~

i immediately alert the rhino distributor and he request kelvin to use hair-dryer/heat gun to blow onto the hole area to seal it up...

instead, this mechanic go take a flame torch and heat it! alamak!

then he use his fan to blow it cool...

in the end?

ask me monitor on how is it, else they will apply another layer of rhino over it...

i decided it's time not to let them mess with it as they might not be the professional in rhino products, i go straight to the distributor the next day...

aftermath process?

reach distributor place and we discovered that there's no more leaking at that moment already...

perhaps the application had seal it up after the foreign object had removed and much heat had been applied during the process, the flame torch as well as the heat while riding on the road...

the normal air that contains h2o had also decrease the longevity of the rhino gel due to oxidation...

conclusion?

1. nvr use dirty hands to touch the rhino gel as this will destroy the exposed compound

2. nvr use flame thrower to try to heat the applicant in hoping that it will devolve and cover the gap

3. use only hair-dryer or heat gun if gap is too big

4. try to minimize the usage of normal air pump as it contains h2o

5. foreign object is safe to be pulled out but allow a little time for the gap to be sealed up

for now, i shall monitor on the tire pressure in the morning as tire... it no drop, it means the function/objective of rhino product is truly the true! hahahaha!

Good info bro. :thumb:

Used to ride a Gen 1 too.

1.)

Ok for me.

But now I feel the 1st gear is too tall.

After moving off, sometimes i shift quickly to 3rd gear.

But overall, good bike for a lazy biker like me...haha...

2.)

The Gen 2, initially feels very much hotter than the Gen 1, but after running in, the temperature will drop a little.

Perhaps your reading is somewhere around 115C? It will drop to 100C after running in.

But still, the Gen 2 is running hotter than Gen 1. Like the frame part, where you mentioned. :)

3)

The seats...its is ok. But is rather hard though...esp after 60-90 mins.

4)

Fully agreed!!! haha...

5) Once you put an alarm there...dun even have space for anything else already. :(

Have a pleasant ride!
