Did a search on forum and a some forummers suggested that the front and rear suspension should be serviced yearly.

Here are my questions:

1. Should i service my stock suspensions? I got my Fazer 6 in 2008 and have yet to do any servicing on the suspension.

2. I am considering changing the fork spring to Ohlins and keep stock rear suspension. Will i see an improvement in handling?

3. Besides Bikelab, what other shops would you recommend for servicing of suspension?

1. Yes u must ...Routine servicing like fork oil and seals.

2. If you want to upgrade ur front u also need to upgrade your rear. That will balance the bike and improve handling.

Front - Ohlins springs, oil and seals.

Rear - Ohlins shocks

3. Racewerks Ubi,HKL or Sporting.

oh yes and 1 more qn

4) which exhaust has the more high mount look for fz1n ? THANKS !

I m afraid no option for a high-mount..Had used a akra carbon hexagonal slip-on previously on my FZ1N. The slip-on is one of the longest for FZ1.

Reminder me of last week when I wanted to service my X1 forks...wanted to change oil,seal,etc...the mech look at me and said, "you sure u want to do that? Normally pple riding your kind of bike change the whole forks instead, cost abt $50."

Anyway, there are a few more shops beside bikel*b...Teck Tai at braddell have been doing suspension since the 70s,Sporting Motors at Kaki bukit have a few good feedbacks from the guys whom had done the suspensions there.

I had checked out this 3 places before i done mine on the viffer...

I had my done at teck tai.

a rough gauge should be around 18 months in between service. the standard package should include cleaning and checking of internals, new oil seals, o-rings and dust covers, and a fresh dose of suspension fluids.

do take note that there are different weight for the suspension fluids.

there are other shops like mezzo, HKL, sporting motors..

oh, regarding front fork..

changing the springs alone will not have much difference other than a stiffer spring, lesser brake dive.

there's still valving kits that need to be fixed to get a overall improved performance.

U can try checking with sporting motors or racework?

Also heard of people fixing Ohlin Damper on Hyperpro bracket. Haven't see it with my own eyes thou.

If doesn't fit, get the Hyperpro damper as well. Win-Win situation.

dampers are not universal due to the stroke length.

your damper mounted on the gsxr should be frame mounted i guess? most likely will not fit.

I bought a 07 FZ6S2 last Dec and sent it to Bikelab for new fork sprinvs and new oil. They also lowered the fork into the triple clamp by 10mm. Now the bike felt different. Its easier to turn with no sacrifice on stability on straights. Of course it will be good to do both forks and shocks. I know one owner locally who has both Ohlins fork springs and shocks. That package comes close to $2000. I did my fork at BL for only $300 i think because it included new springs, fork overhaul and new oils. Its worth it.
