Hi all,

I am now evaluating Monster for my 2A upgrade. Few points i need advice from anyone of you who posses or had rode it.

1) What the current resale price for a FQ plate?

2) What need to examine during the inspection of the bike?

3) Lastly, which motordiam service Ducati excluding the distributor?

Thank you very much.

Truly need your valuable comments.

:help: :help: :help:

95 pages will be quite a drag to read, I'll try to answer your questions to the best I can.

1) Mines an FQ Plate, bought it last year at 4.25K which is abit on the high side. But the price depends alot on condition, for such an 'old' bike, the condition can vary alot. Set aside at least 500 to 1K to touch up the bike (above your bike budget).

2) Its the same for every bike at Vicom.

3) East Side:

RS Bike Centre

1067 Eunos Avenue 4 #01-214 (S)409801

Contact Rosli, Tel: 67478202

Kallang Cycle

Kallang Avenue Industrial Centre

108 Kallang Avenue (S)339428

Contact Michael, Tel: 6297 1196

Hope this helps... :thumb:

Hi draconis, mine I bought for 3.5k + over 2k to rebuild the bike. Everything is cocked up when i get it at first. So a good conditioned one should cost ard 5k. Lesson learnt is that it is better to fork out a bit more to get a better conditioned one.

The price seems good. Can get. But after you get pls send to the bike shop that contacted listed out. Find micheal. Let him do the rest.

Hi Peg,

I can't really see the Monster at Looi's cos its squeezed at the back row.

I saw the M900 on the classifieds too. But I am looking for something newer, thats why I want to go to Bike Connections and have a look. But just can't seem to find their contact details.

i need to sync my carbs ! anywhere to recommend? price? how's the service at planet motors?

Hi,

Overall Planet is a good bike shop (last time) many gotta agree.

They are not train to service italian bikes I think.

I was there to bleed the rear brake but it turn out to be an almost nightmare to me.

They just top up the fluid and they call this brake bleeding.. oh my....

Brake fluid cover was not proper close, the rear brake is not working at all. tank paintwork was messed and I was upset and promise not to let them touch my bike ever.

Why not try the below mention workshop:

RS Bike Centre

1067 Eunos Avenue 4 #01-214 (S)409801

Contact Rosli, Tel: 67478202

Kallang Cycle

Kallang Avenue Industrial Centre

108 Kallang Avenue (S)339428

Contact Michael, Tel: 6297 1196

Things like this should let Minerva do it. They are the specialist after all. May cost abit but at least you will be at ease. No worries at all. They do good jobs. :thumb:

discovered that my monster's fuel pump located at the right side of the frame is bypassed! the prev owner just linked it direct to the carbs! think the pump is spoilt .. any ideas how much it's gonna cost to replace one?

Hi Angel_of_sin,

I guess you might want to send your bike to the authorised workshop for a one-time thorough check just to have a peace of mind. But don't expect too much (unless you are an ang-moh). I sent my bike there. Customer service was just average (I expected top-notch service from a place that charges a premium) and I got a deep scratch on my swing arm, don't think they gave my bike a good wash after that, and of course a hefty bill to foot because they use 100% Ducati originals and they charge you service by the hour...

Actually you can visit Minerva's showroom. They sometimes help their clients to sell their bike.
