Cruising at 180km/h is alittle optimistic for stock Monster 400.

Take note that the Monster's meter (Older ones anyway) are one of the very few known to actually underread the speed. So when it says 140, true speed might be closer to 150, and your friend's typical over-reading meter might read 160.

My Monster can cruise at 140 with pillion and panniers. But rider uncomfortable, so usually drop back to around 120.

A front windshield might take some of the wind off the chest area, but directs it further up to the neck or helmet. This might be better or worse than no screen at all, so test before finalising.

If you are still wondering what is the difference of a new termis exhaust slip-on, check this out, you can hear the difference yourself.

Price of a Monster: Around $ 15000

Price of riding a ducati monster with Termis slip-on: PRICELESS :cheeky:

Maybe yours is not stock? :D

Anyways, I miss the termis sound! You guys better treasure your air cooled monsters, because soon, Euro4 or newer noise emmision regulations will kill these engines.

2V Timing belt > $80 each

4V Timing belt > $160 each

2V > 10,000 service > $300+++

4V > 10,000 service > $500+++++ (Depending on model. R models cost more to service)

Hi All,

Clearly I'm new here and I've seen alot of talk about Ducati Monsters.

I saw one the other night up close and i really really liked it.

Just looking for some of the older forums birds to help me with some ideas; What compares? What are comparable models to the monster?

Pros Cons etc. Thanks a bunch.
