Thanks yohji , seem like a lot of work to clean the chain...ha..ha.. i am a lazy person. You are right maybe a bike stand will make it easier like what you said. I saw a M600 with a main stand once. That will make things a lot easier.

As for the scott oiler, i read the website, it claim that the oil will not slpash around. I also not sure real or not, but it seems like a lot of bikes have them .

My bike is all stock. Any recommandation from anyone as to what i should do or change to make my M400 ride a bit better?

Thank you all

For the M400 i would suggest changing your pipes to something aftermarket...motoworld has some pretty nice remus pipes for the monster, when i checked the price a year ago, they were about 1600 for the set... high mount stainless steel cannisters wrapped in carbon fiber (which reduces heat so a pillion will not get burnt if he/she touches the pipes). If you want something slightly cheaper you can do what i did with my old M400 and get a set of GPR pipes, only 1350 for the pair, stainless steel with carbon fibre wraps as well. Build quality seems a lot better on the remus though. The GPR pipes don't add much in the way of performance but look much better and sound awesome. Both these options are street legal. Other than that you can probably look at a K & N Air filter to complement the aftermarket pipes. But other than this and small cosmetic mods, I don't suggest any additional mods, particularly performance related mods. Save the money and put it towards a bigger monster. Having ridden both the M400 and now my M900, trust me when i tell you there is nothing sane you can do to an M400 that will even make it anywhere close to what you get with an M900. If you like ducatis and can live with them and are willing to ride a better one, start saving for a 900 (or even S2R/S4R). Best advice i can give you with my experience

I gave William a call earlier and dropped my bike off with him for a full service this afternoon....both him and Norman seem like nice and sincere chaps although William's experience with ducatis does seem a bit limited (by his own admission he has never worked on a ducati superbike). But definitely a very nice guy and not pretentious at all (unlike some #*#*% mechanics at minerva workshop). We'll see how well things turn out when i pick the bike up

Just in case anyone is wondering the address is as follows:

Racewerks

Bukit Merah Lane 2, #01-18

Its basically in the alexandra industrial park area thingy like tabako says. Almost next to the NEA building opposite IKEA, just a little deeper in

You mean your cylinder head gaskets?

It only costs afew dollars each, but you have to pay for labour. Entire process should not cost more than $150.

Thank you for the advice. Good and wise idea. i totally agree with you. No matter how much mob, a 400cc will always be 400cc ...ha..ha...

Ok. set . Pipes and filter it is. Do i need to do tuning after i do these 2 items? Where should i go to get them done? Ducati workshop's mech very proud. Don't even want to look at my bike . I ride there to have it service but was brush off by one guy in the shop. What the hell. I am a paying customer. Cannot stand them. Business too good.

mazlanhasan: hey bro i got an almost 99% similar one from ah boy 2 yrs ago. their mech took 15 mins to fix everything up. maybe u could drop by any bike shop i'm sure they can do it for u. sry i couldnt offer much help.on a note, they didnt use all the wires tho. heh

Thanks man! You gave me some ideas. I'm usually only free on weekends so can't see a mechanic. Saturday mornings are sleep-ins to rejuvenate. But I'll give it one more shot or off to RS Bike to get it fixed. Tks for the advice everyone.

Cheers Ducateers!

Duke_Monster,

Glad that you like the method to lube the chain. I used to love it after nEO taught me that. Never need to bother anybody to assist except I have to ask "anybody" got chain lube for use?" heh heh

Yeah, last Fri after the regular ride, the batt lit came on. I knew something not right and I felt real bad thru out with my sprocket giving fault too.

Reach sinkapo and the bike stall. Call a tow truck and drop it at Kallang Cycle in the middle of 3am.

Replace front/rear sprocket, chain, starter relay, charge battery, some tuning and wiring.

Mike always give good customer first class service and was surprise he managed to do all that in 2 days! Who say Italian bike parts are hard to get huh.

If time permits today, I might drop by to KTM and kopi with you guys tonight.

Cheers!

Yeah, I do agree with you. A 400cc will always be a 400cc. Even you spent a few thousand dollar on it, you get the better effect for 2 to 3 weeks only and they will be like a 400cc again.

I got the same treatment when I first got my monster too. They even ask me to come back with a 900cc before talking to me! These mech just don't respect our local and 400cc monster.

My fav mech is still Mike as he always there to rescue when my bike is having trouble. He's more than a friend to me rather than a mech.

Cheers!

Hi Moonster,

Here's a trick that you might want to try.

It was taught to me by another ex-monster rider.

1. Park your bike as normal.

2. Stood at the back end of the bike and use your right knee to tilt up the rear wheel by supporting the knee to the exhaust.

3. Spray your chain lube as needed.

Smoke, and ride around the neighborhood after 30mins.

Cheers!

Hahha... sound very difficult to do. I also got the same problem. everytime strain myself to lub or clean the chain. Finally, I bought a padlock stand. haha...

Surprisingly, I got the opposite treatment when I went down to Minerva workshop in Kallang. They were attentive and got my bike sorted. And I am riding a COE M400.

Dudes, I ordered this online but it does not fit my M400. Only for MY2002 above. These risers will fit Ducati Monsters, 620 695 750 800 900 and S2R Dark model. It may fit other bike makes. Check out the dimension before you buy.

http://www.mazlan.net/images/handlerisers.jpg

The risers are placed between the fork crown and the handlebars to raise the bars up by 1.25 inches. It's machined from billet aluminum and finished in brushed aluminum. This will help to relieve wrist and neck pain on long rides.

I will deliver them to you. I paid almost $100 for them. PM me a reasonable offer. These are brand new!

Cheers Ducateers!
