Haha dude my M400 has 9 gears 1/n/2/n/3/n/4/n/5. I realised that you have to be deliberate to go all the way with the gear changes. Maybe because my monster is a 98 model and the clutch plates are prob quite worned.

^5 Sherm! Same issue with my bike. Believe it or not, I actually kicked upwards so hard that I sprained my left ankle.

Believe nothing you hear; and only half of what you see.

Do or do not; there is no 'try'.

hi guys, how much does a new stock exhaust cost for a M400?

thanks in advance~!

bro suggest you buy from ebay (australia) as it will be much cheaper than procuring it locally. I had same prob when buying stock exhaust for my M400.. after searching a lot the avg price for 2nd hand stock exhaust was around $450.. but on ebay I got it for A$90 only..

Good luck with your search..:thumb:

Good Day Everyone,

I gotten my hands on 1998 Ducati Monster 400 recently.

Cosmetically, its a 4/10. But it works great. Raymond from Eunos Ave 4 thinks the the internals are fine but he going to go give it a full maintenance and check; over the week.

I am thinking of changing alot of parts to give it a new life e.g. new forks, new seals, a new clutch set, etc etc. The current set works fine but normal wear and tear is setting in.

What I need is advice. Raymond mentioned going Ebay to get parts cos Minerva would be pricey. I know how to do it but I feel "uncomfortable". I need a "experienced" person to "advice" me. I might even piggyback on your orders.

I am patient, willing to wait for parts and talk to fellow Ducati riders. I am willing to spend $3K to do up the bike for starters.

Please do keep me in the loop for your meets or send me msgs with regards to your advices or purchases.

Hi there,

Allow me to jump in.

Ive had my M400 not for long and now Ive grown to really like it..despite the fake neutral(oh yeah my feet also blue black), the long warming up time etc etc

Ive read that You can do all sorts of stuff to upgrade yr bike and use most of them other monster parts to so call "plug and play".

Can any of the bros here comment on that? im thinking of changing the cylinder head to a 600 and ive heard of some place in Lavender that does it.Dont know where exactly.

Also, Ive just spoken with a GPR exhaust dealer in Sg and he has an outlet that supplies GPR so if anyone interested do PM me for his contact.

Price he quoted me for a set of Carbon Fibre or Titanium exhausts are $1650.

(this is a pair for the Monster400)

If you can do a search on Ebay im sure youll be able to find someth cheaper.

That said does any one Know if i can fit in any Monster rear shock onto my M400?

Ride on and Ride safe bros.

For that money might as well get a bigger engine and shoehorn it in IMO

You probably talked to Peter for the Gpr pipes. Good price from him too. Not all rear monster shocks will fit. Have to check which year. Cheers

Looks like some chopping is involved...

What do you mean? That was very cryptic.

Do you mean it is overpriced? Or do you mean that the bike needs to be chopped up? Or the carbon fibre part itself needs to be chopped up?

Is there any way you could elaborate without trying to sound like you're projecting an air of mystery about you? :D
