Hi S4 bros, I've got a question on Givi windshields. I'm considering between Givi 755 or Givi 770. Has anyone tried them at 140 to 160 over long distances on NSH? My friend tried 755 and said its not broad enough on the sides. Does the wind hit your helmet on the top on in your face with this 2 windshield? I'm 1.77m... Buay tahan the windblast on the occasional ride North liao... Appreciate some inputs from more experienced riders here.

Pplater: Hi bro, I'm not a very experienced rider, but I've installed Givi Airstars A770 for my S4. Actually u need not ride on NSH to test its usefulness. In Sg's cruising spd of ard 100kmh, u can feel tat wind is actually deflected directly towards ur helmet if u're sitting upright. Making it a noisy ride. Thus if u wan a more quiet ride, it's always best to sit back n lean a little. Personally for me at NSH (130-150kmh), I'll try to rest on my tank n totally hide behind my A770 for a smooth n quiet ride, rather den having e strong wind blast on my helmet above 130kmh. Btw I'm ard ur height too. Cheers. =)

Hi Sky_Vinz.. Hmm... That being the case i believe 755 windshield with its shape and top curve and height will deflect it slightly over my head. 770 is more curve downwards like sport bike like that. Whereas 755 curve upwards, opposite... Should have significant difference... Cruise long D gotta lean all the way... Hmmm.. can be a bit tiring

Sh|nHwA-: Haha! I encountered tat before too! Both me n pillion were sitting upright, but pillion didnt hide behind my helmet properly. Thus at spds above 110kmh, my helmet will encounter lots of wind liao. N will b swaying left n right.. -,-"

Pplater: A755 is 450x360mm (BxH) whereas A770 is 380x440mm (BxH). Which means A770 is taller? Anyone has done a comparison? I dunno, but my personal preference is still a A770, which looks much more bigger den other models. Plus point is tat it has a top curve which will deflect wind upwards, like those windscreens installed on tourers like Honda ST1100. =) Downside is tat I've gotta remove my windshield before I can open up my headlight unit. Easy n fast (juz 2nuts), thus not much of a worry.

it also depends on how you position the windshield..

i tilt it all the way backwards.. it looked low..

if i tlit it forward, the clearance will increase.. but travelling at high speed, the windshield in the end will be push backwards..

hmm... i heard that the 755 is not broad enough too. You mean the 770, you position upright, it actually gets pushed backwards towards u? So strong ah... Pushed backwards as in flapping or pushed backwards but held steady, or pushed backwards but stuck there and you gotta adjust it when off expressways? I think i may be getting the 770...

i think even you use "locktight", it'll still be pushed backwards when you travel at high speeds..

dun tell me you cruise at 50kph at NS highway?

If you really need those tall and sturdy ones that wun be push backwards at high speed.. get those that are the "windshield" ones only.. meaning only the transparent part one big piece one.. it'll be attached to the bike with a couple of mounting points.. bikeyroo is using "puig" one..

GIVI also had a few models like this..

bikeyroo: if you see this, maybe can post a pic to show the others..? thank you..

Well... Having a wind-shield is definitely a plus-point... My first one is a Givi A200B on my VTEC 1 and I use it all the way to Hatyai. Serves me well then...

Then I had my Givi A750 which is also okay until I thought I'll still prefer something transparent, so I end up with Givi A600 for my current ride...

Really worth the investment...

Cheers!

I ended up with Givi 770 after all, bought second hand over Garage Sale for just a hundred bucks. No regrets :thumb:

Me using windscreen from ERMAX. Though it is still not that high, I'm thinking of getting an additional flip-up screen to go along with that for touring. Windscreen is neccessary for rides overbroad.

Is there any other kind or brand of windshield other than Givi windshield?
