Thanks sino74, Out of 3 forums I am subscribed to you are the only person that gave me any advice. The thread was read by many on all 3 forums but no one said anything. Again thanks for the feedback.

I'm not sure about petrol mileage as i'm not riding CB400SF but our spark plug

is the same. Use high octane petrol for long distance to help protect engine and improve mileage.

Dear bros juz curious... will iridium plugs really have any better effects on S4 especially in pick-up and so on...or will prolonged usage of iridium plugs cause any ill effects for S4 due to the "higher/greater spark" on the pistons...

Posted

No ill effects, but super4 may not get the maximum benefit out of iridium. The main advantage is not just the smaller spark tip, but the excellent longevity of the iridium tip. Super4 plugs typically last very well. Iridium will benefit high revving sportbikes more as many have plugs worn out of spec in 10~12k. It also depends on how you ride your bike. If you high rev your super4, it is worth a try.

Motoworld has launched a series of iridium plugs, it is alittle more affordable then the densos. I just saw it yesterday, think they have some promo going on with it.

A common misconception is that changing spark plugs will result in a large power increase. In most cases, removing even seriously worn out spark plugs will only result in very modest power gains, typically about 1-2% of total engine output.

Spark Plug Basics:

The spark plug has two primary functions:

To ignite the air/fuel mixture.

To remove heat from the combustion chamber.

Iridium is a precious metal that is 6 times harder and 8 times stronger than platinum, it has a 1,200°F higher melting point than platinum and conducts electricity better.

the only diff i noticed abt iridium spark plugs is the bike is easier to start...

When you change new plugs, regardless of what grade, you'll always feel slight improvement in response. The iridium, hopefully with its longevity, will maintain this improvement for a longer period.

thinks its an overkill on an S4......like bro ANR Impex mentioned b4 unless u using high performance sportsbikes like Suzuki K1-6, CBR1000s or R1s then u can feel the diff.....but on a road bike....better save $$ and get normal plugs will do.

So basically what you are saying here is that iridium plugs are better than usual due to their properties, but that one should not change to it until one has totally worn out one's spark plug, or when it becomes totally necessary? Because your point(s) seems to be pretty vague here.

Is it true that there are imitation iridium plugs in the market nowadays?? and which brand for iridium is better?? Denso or Ngk or...?

changing of iridium plugs, no prob... they claim to have a longer lifespan, more precise firing therefore save petrol. due to the small surface of firing compared to normal plugs...
