its your money, so spend it the way you want so long as you think it is worth it...

No ill effects, but super4 may not get the maximum benefit out of iridium. The main advantage is not just the smaller spark tip, but the excellent longevity of the iridium tip. Super4 plugs typically last very well. Iridium will benefit high revving sportbikes more as many have plugs worn out of spec in 10~12k. It also depends on how you ride your bike. If you high rev your super4, it is worth a try.

Motoworld has launched a series of iridium plugs, it is alittle more affordable then the densos. I just saw it yesterday, think they have some promo going on with it.

i guess i dont qualify for irridiums then.

no, my point is iridium gives longevity, you are buying longevity, not so much raw performance. All new plugs give 'power boost' over worn plugs, iridium maintain longer as it has better ability to stay in spec. But usually the gain in responsiveness is slight and the rider quickly gets used to it. If the rider decides to change plugs at normal plug interval, then it is a complete waste of money for iridiums as they don't offer much significant performance boost versus a new regular plug. Measuring the spark gap is the best method to determine when to change plugs, but this is seldom practised.

yesterday I just installed NGK iridium plugs & KNN filter at Motorworld...I certainly can feel the power improvement ...smoother and stronger acceleration. But hahaha....I dunno whether it is due to the KNN filter or the plugs :cheeky:

tt6389, how much did the plugs cost you? 22 per piece? what brand is motoworld promoting? by the way, KNN air filter cost $70, correct?

NGK iridium is 17.50 each.

KNN air filter plus 4 plugs total $140 after discounts plus GST.

The good thing about KNN air filter is higher air flow at high rpm than stock - which is supposed to give better combustion & more power. The bad thing is everytime 6000km , it need to be air blown, wash with special KNN detergent, air blown dried, than re-install back. At least 1hr process just for the air filter - its so troublesome & time consuming compare to the use & throw stock filter!

Motorworld has imported & marketing their own iridium plugs - hodaka or something - only 14.50 each. But NGK plugs is supposed to be recommended for Honda bikes. Even the high tension sotong cables in S4 has NGK label on it.

better dun air-blow a KNN air-filter,veri bad practice

think the recomended time for washing of K&N air-filter is like every 60k km

yes. its a five-figure number of km,b4 air-filter need to do servicing

20. How do I know when to clean the filter?

The general rule of thumb is that the filter needs to be cleaned when the dirt build up gets as thick as the wire mesh. The usual interval is 30,000 - 50,000 miles depending on driving conditions. We recommend that you check your filter about once a year in normal usage.
