hmm.. i got no better way to explain this. I saw a CBR400 rider at cineleisure's carpark. His bike was parked and he wanted to turn around w/o sitting on it as the carpark was packed. So he pull the bike up towards him and with only the sidestand supporting the bike, span the bike around w/o sitting on it.

I tried it with my kips, but couldn't get the desired result! Obviously my technique is wrong. So what's the proper way? This might come in handy..

Yea. Tis move is useful esp whn u ride into a dead end and theres no space to make a 3pt turn. But I nvr tried it too hehe. I think u lean the bike towards u, resting the bike weight on yr body n yr side stand n swing it can work or not ? :cheeky:

Yes... No stunt at all, tried it on 200 over kg hayabusa before also. It is very useful once you get the hang of it.

yep saw it before too but never tried it before..

whats the correct technique to make it look so simple?

support the weight of the bike with your body as the pivot?

i guess u got to balance the weight of bike on the sidestand, while resting the weight of the bike towards you. really dunno how to explain.. haha, but its really simple when u get the hang of it. you've to try it out*, if not you wont know how to do it.

rest the weight of the bike on ur body. use the sidestand as a pivot and turn it around. u can lift up the bike by gripping the brake footrest.

tested and proven on my RVF..

i'm wondering if it is bad for our side stand? cuz like very stressful on it..

LiveVideo: Bike turned, sidestand as pivot point

I've tried it on my SP before. Bikes like these are pretty light and I find it quite easy to lift it by its rear wheel rim, even with 1 hand only.

I've never heard of sidestands giving way because of the extra weight being transferred to it before...

my mech oce told me the side stand is one of the toughest and strongest point on the bike. my super 4 he also got spin wit side stand only before. i also lube my chain myself by tilting til the bike is resting on side stand then can spin the rear wheel.

side stand may be strong, but the contact portion of the stand and bike may be weak.If your bike is heavy then u r doing it at your own risk.

usually i rest one foot at the foot rest and put my weight at the other leg for support. i turn my handle bar to my left actually. left hand on the left handle bar and the right hand under my pillon seating area near the tail light. jack up the back first and then balance with the front. and then wallah.. try it on my TZM, Spec 3 and x-1.
