Hence the worry. There had been a lot of once in 50 years happening. I guess most of us are like decades old already and we lost track of time (date etc).

Today (actually a couple of weeks ago) while riding in JB right after passing the customs, I saw a blue scooter stopped by the road side with 2 uncles trying to start it up.

Naturally as Silent Hunter, I quietly stop a couple of meters in front of them, and got off my bike (ebony :lovestruck:) to ask them if they need help. It turns out that the 2 gentlemen had ran out of fuel! Fortunately for them I always carry a small bottle of petrol for emergencies like this, and offered it to them. After pouring the emergency petrol in, the scooter started on the second try. They thanked me profusely and we all went to the nearby Petronas to pump petrol.

At the pump, while refilling the emergency petrol bottle, one of the uncles slipped me a RM $10.00 note. I told him RM $1.00 would do, but he told me to keep it and went back to his scooter. By the time I top up my petrol tank too, the 2 of them were already gone.

Well, no good deed goes unpunished. Looks like I got a hefty subsidy for my petrol run. I just hope that my "Karmamometer" didn't just pass 99999 and reset to 00000.

Motorcyclist are the nicest people on the road, try not to kill us.

6.45AM - on my way to work riding along the jammed BKE towards KJE from SLE.

Bikes were confined to playing follow the leader along the narrow gap in between the lanes.

Along comes this Malaysian registered cub kia revving all the time trying to squeeze past me. Poking his front wheel to the left side and then ride side very close to my ankles even though it is bloody obvious there was no space to go through even if I wanted to allow him through.

The constant revving and front wheel poking was very distracting and was getting me quite agitated as I worry that he might knock into me and I was having a hard time concentrating on the slow moving cars around me.

Suddenly a gap appeared in between the cars and I angrily waved him past. Of course he had to 'blow' me first then stare at me and overtake.

By then I was quite pissed off already so I decided to give him back the same treatment since he was now in front of me and blocked by the rest of the other bikes.

I started gunning the engine and let my Yohsimura talk to him while I poke my front wheel to the right and then left side of his bike, basically giving him a taste of his own medicine.

He kept glancing left and right, moving his bike from side to side to prevent me from overtaking him. Whilst he was busy sideglancing at me on the right side, I noticed that his bike was veering towards the left straight for a Dahaitsu lorry ferrying some Indian workers. The lorry had stopped suddenly in its lane.

All I heard was a loud 'smack' as he turned away from me to face the front. His face impacted the high tailboard of the lorry much to the hyena like laughter of highly amused Indian workers. He stopped his bike using his face.

I was not sure the stuff he was spitting out were pieces of his teeth or what as I rode past because of the amount of blood he was spitting out too.

Wear open face helmet some more. Bloody idiot if ever there was one.

How was your ride today?? Do you have praises for someone or did someone pissed you off?? Tell us about it.

Wondering if you can go for real time commentary for bike race and championship. great stuff!!

Had quite a bad accident May 2018, scrapped the bike. I suffered broken bones fractured hands and scrapped almost whole left side of lower and upper body... BMW for 8months.. while slow recovery. When have to return to work after 2 months Hospital Leave. Realized how convenient it is to have a bike, than to BMW or even Grab or Go-Jek. The cost is actually more thank you think. Transport fees always rising.. and always no seats on train. Legs start to become pain from all the walking and standing. die die wana buy bike, got a new bike although from 1000cc downgrade to 300cc Scooter but I am loving every moment with it. Used to be on 1st lane now I only play 3rd lane. :) Just a simple transport for work, marketing etc.

Big bike overtake me all with their loud pipes all.. just take it in, I used to do that too last time. lol.

Today ride was fun, as always. bike gets me safely from home to work. slower ride means I get to see more things around of me, than always chiong fast but never get to see the surrounding area.

Sometimes things happen for a reason but thank God we are still alive. Cherish life and ride safe bros n sis.

Indeed. Fast or slow we can still learn to enjoy our ride. Good that you’re back on a bike. I had a spill on the ECP a few years back but didn’t think about giving up riding too.

Minding my own business yesterday, out on a lovely evening ride. A bit warm but managed to stay out of trouble and explored Seletar a little. Almost got home along Eunos when a red Alpha Romeo decided he/she wanted the lane that I was in. I was following behind a car in moderately heavy traffic positioned about 1/3 way within the lane, when the Alpha sped up from behind me and took up the same space forcing me out of the lane.

Angry and horned at him/her but too dark and congested to take it further.

Got home safely after that and thanked my lucky stars nothing worse happened. Bikers tend to get the short end of the stick, even if we try to ride safe. Still, live to ride another day.

Assalam mualaikum Fir,

I am very sorry to hear of your misfortune. After reading many of your adventures, I was wondering where you were. I hope you are better now. Auto scooter is my main thrill nowadays too. I pray you take care of yourself nowadays.

Dont care about all those big bikes. Ride for fun and marketing and work.

Bismillah before riding.

Nea WMD effect kicking in. Now considering what to do with my 20 year old bike. Honestly, appearance looks good, engine still strong, JDM bike with low seat height and it's a v-twin. Except the PQP almost as ex as the nea rebate and coe due soon.

Any new v-twin bikes out there that's low seat height? I think the max I can bear is the SV650 seat height.

It's a good idea to keep a spare bottle of petrol for emergencies. Good job!

Safe not really safe.. I ride safe, wanna bang behind (lucky slight impact only) bike no drop, no fall. (stationary)

As one of my bike friend like to say, ride like everyone is trying to kill you. (this make sense only after a few years to me) haha..

I cherish every moment on the road now and I thank god that me and my wife life was spared. I wanted to give up riding honestly but... its in the blood, dad rides, me rides 15yrs already.

Only now SPEEDING is no longer in my vocabulary.

WA'alaikumSalam MR BIKER,

The accident took place in KPE, I lost control hit the side walls (concrete slab) at a speed and everything went very fast and blur. Alhamdullillah with family and friends prayers and words of encouragement we (me and wife) recovered well, though there are abit of side effects like scars etc. yes. I just got a maxi scooter and its very fun! didn't know scooter can be that much fun!

yeah, now bike mainly for work, marketing, visiting inlaws, parents, JB pump :) Yes always say my prayers before every ride.. big bike is not a threat for me..been there done that but seeing them go soo fast now... just wish they could hear my phispers to them to ride safe, don't speed and be careful, return home safely to your family and loved ones... You never know when is your last ride, I have lost some friends over the years (all 1000cc) at Malaysia NSHW although they are very careful riders.

Thank you and I pray for the health and well-being of you too brother, take care :)

Hi adesmond2,

Thank you for your kind advise :) just sharing with you, my uncle once told me (15 years ago when I just gotten my bike) people say you are not a biker if you never taste the tar (road) before.

Back then it doesn't make sense to me. after many years of riding, some small accident (skidded and tasted tar, bang SG car behind in JB and tasted tar, Malaysia bike bang me in SG then tasted tar, I bang SG police car behind and tasted tar, funny stationary fall because jeans caught at footrest) and the recent major one I had. I believed his words LOL.

Yes, you have to ride like every car is out there to kill you (not literally), do pay special attention to taxi that may stop abruptly in front of you. The hard part nowadays is to spot PHV drivers with hands on the hp, too focused on the app and not on the road. They may enter our lanes without due care. (following GPS blindly).

Do ride safe and say a simple prayer before each ride no matter how near/far.

Take care brother and thank you for your reply :)

I'm glad that you're back on the bike again. May you have many continuous safe rides. I also ride defensively and watch for the traffic around me. That's how I've been surviving in Singapore when I was riding there.

Yes wise words. Always need to remind myself that backing down may mean saving my own life. Better battles to fight elsewhere.
