Yesterday evening. Almost ran over a cat. Thankfully I managed to slow down and let the cat run across before it got knocked down.

 

Today, tire puncture when I was leaving work and when tow truck came, I helped the driver to push my bike up the lorry in the rain

Hey ladies and gentlemen, other than drivers changing lanes wifout checking blind spots or signalling, another accident prone situation. When reaching junctions and i m moving straight on green, cars in opp. side wait in pocket to turn right. Unfortunately, many of times, they try dash b4 i reach junction or they start moving even b4 i pass half da junction! Dat resulted in my 4th accident & my sister was my pillion. I urge riders beware & hope da authorities scrap da pockets. Juz use 2 diff traffic lights 4 all cross junctions, like some already in place.

Well, dat was really a learning xperience but now dat i slow down & move to centre lane at junctions, they dashed across, which makes me brake harder. Burn rubbers!

 

Btw, luckily 4 us, both survived wif minor injuries aft sliding thru tarmac and crashed stop at traffic light. I was da cushion 4 my sis. Dat was 2 yrs back, i oredi had my 5th accident alone, fractured my left ankle. Hope dat's da last pls. At least now, both of us still riding strong, juz back frm Port Dickson.

Guess wat, made me think, I OREDI HAD 5 ACCIDENTS. Damn. All 3 bikes b4 tis had hit da tarmac, da roads + inconsiderate drivers = accidents. I did my part, tried my best, we riders dun hit drivers, drivers hit us, if nt, skid on roads coz of foreign objects. When i drive, no accident. Haiya.... Ride safe ppl...

I just personally think it is pointless to 'play' with these kind of drivers.

When you let your ego control the throttle as much as the driver was allowing his ego to take over.... you stand to lose more.

 

Just slow down and let him go, tell yourself that it is not worth losing your licence.

 

The love of riding comes from the heart, but when on the bike... the style of riding should come from the head.

Always be ready to slow down at junctions even though the lights are in your favour. There will always be someone trying to beat the lights.

 

Another driver or rider could be looking in your direction... as long as he has no eye contact with you.... he has NOT seen you.

Had my first Class 2 lesson today.

It's been awhile since I went to SSDC.... or ride a bike with manual gears....

While waiting for the e-brake, saw a fellow student having Class 2A 1st lesson (Class2/2A 1st lesson together!) rode INTO THE DRAIN beside the bumpy course...

!!!!!!!!!!!! T_T needless to say, I didn't reach required speed for the e-brake for the whole lesson....

 

ahakz.. how i miss ssdc.. cant wait to go there very soon.. Its like after all d messiness on d road.. its nice to once in a while ride inside d circuit wher everythin is organised n systematic Talkin abt ebrake.. ther was once during my 2b lesson time.. a gal takin her 2a license.. she skidded n lost control of d bike at d ebrake area.. it scared d hell out of me.. haiz..

RE: Junctions

 

SLOW DOWN. Even if it's just a minor/major road junction, cannot 100% confirm that other vehicles will stop behind the stopline and give way to you.

 

Traffic light junction with green light in your favour, SLOW DOWN. Try to use the leftmost lane so that right-turning cars can see you earlier (sometimes their view is obstructed). 3rd arrow away from the light, close the throttle, standby fingers on the brake, and be very very paranoid. Flash highbeam/passing light a few times to alert turning vehicles and also to help them gauge your distance easier.

 

Sometimes the goondu drivers judgement isn't very good, and bikes speed/distance are more difficult to judge. So help them judge easier to save yourself.

on 24th march at ard 215am, i was riding home going via braddell rd towards CTE city. after a short tunnel, there was this soft left bend, then a super4 sped past me. it was definitely going above 110km/h, with a pillion rider. i saw e bike, before my eyes, go near to the divider and "rubbed" against the kerb. sparks flew, and the bike flew up and skidded across the road for about 50m. i stopped, called the ambulance and went over to see whether any help can be rendered. luckily, a police car came and stopped jus after a few mins.

 

wat i saw was very very disturbing. the impact was so great that both rider's and pillion's helmets were flung off and were on the road. the 2 of them were flung over to the other side of the road. 1 was lying face down, with a pool of blood near his head. (the policeman jus said that this person is probably gone already..) the other guy, the leg was broken, i think.. because i really couldnt bear to see. wat i saw was his hand... broken off at the wrist area, hanging just by the skin.. (jus imagine eduardo's ankle..) he was lying there motionless and no groaning or watsoever.. i guess he was already in shock, and i really hope that he couldnt feel the pain..

 

so pls, fellow riders, ride safe and stay on the road for as long as you are riding. i think jus by reading will not invoke any fear in you, but i really hope you can try to imagine wat i saw and be real careful while on the road. believe me, its a harrowing experience to just witness the accident. wat if you were the one involved in the accident? if you were the one lying there in a pool of blood, and looking at your hand hanging by the skin of the wrist, or worse, see your friend lying in a pool of blood, motionless, all you can do is ask aloud, "why did i go so fast?" or other "why did i ....." qns... tt is really e only thing you can do at tt pt of time..

Go at 110 at the bend? Ive seen some going so fast while squeezin thru traffice at jams on CTE.. Its aredi so cramped and i dunno why some riders wanna rush so fast.. esp those wit pillions.. if a car lane change abruptly, how r they gonna stop?? Swerving is impossible coz u r surrounded by cars.. and ive seen some bikers.. who squeeze here n there.. and try to overtake me and some other slow riders.. pls lah.. its not as if we r SO SLOW on d normal roads.. we r jus slow wen we r squeezin between two cars on jams.. I wonder where they r rushing to? Pls, ur life is at stake. THink abt it.

today while going to work ,

took another route jus for fun

was at this traffic junction , very near to tampines polyclinic.

dunno why , i was jus counting down the digital number for pedestrians. when it hit 0 , i look at the main traffic light and notice the color did not change immediately. after a while it starts to change and i chnage my direction of my head and also see the traffic light change and the blinker turning right sign was on. the first 2 car turn upon the green arrow , but from my direction i saw this white vios car coming very fast ...in my mind i was like , wa wanna do ebrake ah... but the next second he horn the taxi which was turning right. lucky the taxi also e brake and the car suddenly slow down and stop at the junction... nearly witness an accident lor. crazy vios driver ....

if u are not rushing stick to fuking back of the car and dun block the lane split area so that those riders who wan to lane split can do it and not fuking block by u
