Last Friday, I saw 2 separate bike accidents.

 

1) In the morning at South Buona Vista Road, an ambulance blocking the road to pick up a rider and possibly a pillion. The bike that was damaged was a kup.

 

2) At Sin Ming area, not far from IDAC. I can't give much details 'cos I was coming from the other direction to go to IDAC. When I finished, the accident had been cleared.

 

I hope both riders and pillions are ok

A m'sian registered bike went past the red light like nobody business while the rest of us were waiting impatiently behind along kranji rd . I think he still think he is in M'sia .

 

But in the end i still caught up wif him after the light turned green.

I was with my younger brother exiting tampines into pie tuas...

so on the roundabout nearing to the exit this wrx guy horns me. as i was taking one lane my brother on the other. I had a pillion with me.

 

Well he horn me again as i was trying to swap to the right lane (still inn the round about) to let him pass, and so i glanced at him. He gave me an open palm facing upward and horn again.

 

Mind you i wasnt at all comunicating with my brother watsoever.

I kept my cool, and was thinking this guy gila kapa. Give way to him also not happy.

So he sped of 1st entering the highway.

 

I guess i was thinking wat should i do, but my brother had other ideas.

Mind you still not comunicating with my brother watsoever.

 

Just i was about to open throttle, my bro sped off chasing the bugger. I wasnt far behind. We managed to catch up to him not far away.

WRX was on the 1st lane.

 

Unlikely for him there was a taxi infront of him. We decided to hog lane 2.

One lane 2 bikes. We maintain our speed with the taxi.

Then everytime there was a vehicle on lane 2, we squezzed past the vehicle, me left, bro right, while maintaining our speed with the taxi.

 

My pillion was perplexed on our riding formation. just before paya lebar exit we decided to ease of and not the keep up with the taxi. So the WRX sped past us, changed lane and overtook the taxi back on the 1st lane. I think he must have been going 140km/h.

 

Hah, he should be blaming the taxi for driving so slow at 100km/h on lane 1.

 

Guess bikes are really more handy than cars in a few areas...

That was antisocial and totally unnessesary. That guy could have been in a genuine rush, like the previous case where the driver encountered a roadhogger while driving his wife to the hospital.

 

Takes two seconds to ease off and give way. He could have been desperate, make a small mistake and you and your pillion will be the one tarmac surfing.

If someone just horns you and then gets past you, let it go. It's not as if he intentionally tailgated you repeatedly to disturb you.

 

If he did tail you intentionally to disturb you, then by all means play with him.... but NOT with a pillion. You can choose to decide your own fate, but your pillion is totally uninvolved and innocent.

my pillon n i are drivers, who right who wrong we know, but as u have mentioned, i almost impacted the taxi tat makes me the guilty party, tats y its very unfair as i have to take the blame of the reckless driver in front of me, tats life in SG

Most of my frenz drive and i'm the only rider among them so they usually will keep up to my speed. Then always got drivers come and play punk with me then my frenz would play punk back my hogging a 2 lane road.. That's super cool. But we are traveling at 90km/h which is road limit so he juz follow behind.. haha..

Well...

When taxi drivers are behind me, sometimes they do "help" in the sense that when they see another driver execute a dangerous maneuver right in front of me, or any impending danger (touch wood), they'll sound their horn just as if they were the ones being in danger themselves.

 

Whether the taxi driver is helping me or not, I'm also thinking that it may be that apart from slow 'ol me, that reckless driver is the worst of two evil...uh...slow obstacles.

After a little while...

One thing I was wondering.... Why do you wedding escort guys like to ride beside each other and chit chat? Or worse, take up one lane each, ride at a ridiculous road speed and then chit-chat... or smoke while chit-chat, or whatever?

 

 

OK, you guys were not chit-chatting with each other, fair enough.

 

But then again, sidetracking.... we've all seen wedding escort bikers.... and the way they ride in a group, as a group, as a mob. Yep. Mob. And sometimes you all like to take up most of the road space while chit chatting, oblivious and inconsiderate to traffic around. Maybe strength in numbers drains all other factors... like logic and common sense. I dunno. Or the worse types.. they ride dangerously all over the road, zigzagging and semi-stunting.

 

 

I just realized why that Rex driver might be impatient. It's already a stereotyped image gone into the head.

 

Let's be honest here. As motorists, we hate it when a bunch of cyclists take up an entire lane of a 70kph road while they cycle side by side, zig-zagging, taking their own sweet time at 15kph while chatting.

 

And here we have bikers taking up TWO lanes riding side by side... when you could have travelled at a normal road speed and just use one lane in a staggered formation.

 

Something just makes me think that you were road hogging to begin with, and after being horned... your egos took over and ended up acting like.... yes... antagonistic arseholes. Now, that's just me being honest with my thoughts.

I acknowledged that he wasn't chit chatting. And that the Rex driver most prob already stereotyped riders who ride alongside each other as chit-chatting road hogs.

juz now while riding oon pie to tuas,saw two accident. one on the roundabout & the other on the e'way. both involve cars & the funny ting is,no dents is visible on the rear bumper sia

Riding along AYE, rode next to a 16-wheeler with a flat rear tyre! Tyre was so flat that the metal was scraping the road already so much so it has a clanking sound.

 

Went in front of driver and tried to signal him. (traffic jam had no problems getting in front of him) Turned to look at driver... his entire windscreen was covered with the sun reflector! Cannot see driver how to tell him??

 

Rode off when I came to my exit.
