a powerful bike doesnt really help much, its all about the rider's skill and alertness, must know how to react fast, think ahead

And of cos think safe too bro. :)

Today while riding at night, I was cruising along a 2 lane road with no traffic going at 70km/h. Out of the corner of my eye, a small little grey thing snapped out of the road divider in a blur and sprinted across the road. There was no time to react. I was jolted upright in surprise when the thing crossed my path. My instantaneous reaction was only muttering "Wa, CCB", knowing it was futile to do anything. It was too late; i knew it the moment I saw it dashing out.

I couldn't do anything to prevent an accident.

I didn't wanted to take a life.

It was too close.

It was too fast.

The grey little cat didn't look out for me.

It wasn't my fault.

I was lucky; it cleared my front tyre by inches

It probably wasn't worth writing about, but I found my expletive-laced reaction rather comical and chuckled about it :deal: Guess it takes a rider to understand another being pissed at the perils of not being in control otr. Goodness... I hadn't even finished saying my CCB when the thing reached the other side of the road.

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

I once got alittle carried away on the mountain twisties at North Thailand. Rode over a hill crest, while leaned over at a good speed, and lo behold, a whole herd of cows crossing the road.

Worse still, I had to brake, while leaned over, on slippery 30 year old Thailand tarmac, all the while threading through the minefield of cow patties.

So did you kneeslide from dragging Tarmac to dragging cow patties? :D

even when you did all that maneuvers, they are least offended cos they are so used to all kinds of situations.

Bingo. That's the answer I was looking for.

No I'm not frustrated with them. But I know I have more leeway with them. I can cut in closer without them being pissed off.

I can suddenly just challenge them for that squeezing space without having them blast the horn and gesturing me like a Singaporean would. :D

Today when i was on the way to work i encountered very funny thing. I noticed that drivers are very relistic..

I was entering PIE from bukit batok when a TP rode past me.. After that I was following behind him all the way till paya lebar and on the way, i noticed that there were no cars infront, and behind the TP.. Those drivers whom wanna cut into the first lane signals check blind spot b4 moving out. The most cars slow down and move out of the first lane to allow the TP to past.. Super funny.. I was behind the TP all the way cos it was super smooth and fast.. No car cut me, or tried to tailgate me nothing man, juz pass..

The only thing is that the TP was riding fast man.. On my meter was about 100km/h and he was about 2 car length infront of me.. On a certain stretch of road i think the TP was travelling more then 120km/h.

But today was the smoothest ride i have ever travelled to work. No drivers tried to kill me on the road to work.. haha

ask the TP if that is his regular timing ?

Anyone saw the accident on the westbound part of PIE (after Thomson Rd exit on the downslope part of the flyover) at 10pm on Friday evening? 2 taxis and 2 cars pile up on the right lane.

This morning, was on Kim Seng Rd heading towards Great World City when a Mercedes taxi cut into my lane without signalling and turning right. Had to jam brake and horn but the driver turn like he owns the road. I feel like throwing a stone to break his rear window

i concur to that!!

yesterday was my first time in a car ever since a long time. also in the hands a P-plate driver, that is my friend. and suddenly, now i know why riders are so vulnerable. and i don't know how my friend can pass. drive also can occupy more than one lane alternating one end to another. confirm make bike hard to squeeze through.

i feel so scared in the car cos i'm so used to being in control of my bike, leaving my life in the hands of a scary driver. nauseous with the hard brake and acceleration. but only on straights. :dozed: corner at filter lane, tried to go fast but end up jam braked, nauseous again, cos got 1 innocent bangla wanna cross the road. when on the expressway, i was thinking that maybe if got car, it's not so bad cos i'm well protected from the sun and got aircon. then later on, further up ahead, i'm glad i still ride a bike cos the traffic jam is really ever so frustrating when you are crawling at a snail's pace when all the bikes just zoom past you like nobody's business.

1-0 to bikes.

today while riding!

[yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8YVw4zWHiQ[/yt]

Scene 1: Vehicle changed lane without signal, I closed throttle and braked.

Scene 2: Taxi changed lane; I could see it's wheel inching inside and made a decision to keep to right of lane so when it came in, I'll have a lil more time to react. I closed throttle and braked to let it past.

Scene 3: Safety first, I don't know if the bus will just change lane irregardless, so i closed throttle and braked. When I'm sure it's going to stay in lane, I made sure I get out quickly (OK, so my bike's not really THAT fast.)

PS: Reloaded coz of the funky engrish mistake that will have my english teachers hounding after me!
