Wet period bros and sis please ride defensively and safely.

Indeed! Inspect those tyres and if your tyre threads are less than 3mm, might want to think of replacing them; don't want to do Tokyo Drift next time you lead a convoy down the Descending Spiral of Doom @ TPY in the wet :)

The drifting or sliding is not the major issue here.

The big legality issue here with regards to worn down tyres is... when you meet an accident... right or wrong... you lose the case.

The insurance company will not pay you coz in the eyes of the law... your tyres are not road worthy once their tread depth is below 3 mm. They will tell you that you have failed to keep your vehicle in a roadworthy condition... a requirement of the Road Traffic Act.

Never try and go cheap on tyres or think you can save money by wearing them till they are bald.... your life is riding on them.

This is just a piece of advice... do what you think best. Its your money and your life anyway.

Heard a loud bang from my home and when I looked out the window smoke was coming out, a car or whatever vehicle it may have been, ran through the kerb and hit the reflective pillar down and just driven off.

Guess it shows the driver wasnt injured, but I'm sure his vehicle was.

this afternoon a black MITSUBISHI LANCER EX MOD (lucky i forget the no plate...:box:) overtook and squeeze me till my bike near the kerb, PIE, Toa Payoh exit.. can't tat STOOPID driver saw that i'm following with few cars in front and a red light... why couldn't he just wait behind..?? yes we bikeys squeeze in during red traffic light...

not the 1st time but quite a few occasions face this kind of similar situations only today i'm bloody pissed off..!! maybe these STOOPID drivers never been a rider so they NEVER understand our situation...

i'm a driver and understand riders point of view except those dangerous ones..

today on west coast highway, tried to "overtake" this lorry which was on 2nd lane. switched lanes to 1st lane and wanted to lane change back to 2nd lane, but i was unable to, because the lorry just kept on going faster and faster.

i think it's agility company or something.

i was already going 110km/h (roughly 90km/h actual speed i guess?), so that lorry was clearly speeding. (60km/h speed limit for that vehicle)

and this went on right till jalan buroh. at the back of my mind i thought "oh well, the driver is already probably late on his stuff or something" but something really is funny when i find that the lorry is always behind me no matter how fast or slow i go. imagine going 130 / 140 and you find a blo0dy lorry behind. that's how fast that bugger went. oh well, at least i arrived my destination safe and sound, though late.

anyway, raptor is right about the tyre thread thing. no matter what sort of accident you get in, if they find your bike is not in road worthy state, you'll be at the losing end. i got told off by the TP last year when i last had my skid (rainy weather, unreliable tyre and faulty brakes), and i was lucky to just escape from being "awarded" 6 points , more lucky when i manage to escape unscathe (early morning PIE jam).

btw is it me or is there just an influx of female p-plate drivers nowadays ?

dear STALKER on SGBikes.com ,

YOU CAN SUCK MY MIDDLE FINGER DEEP DEEP !

yours truly.

Some silver Nissan Sunny tried to do that to me while I was filtering towards the Braddell flyover from the Esso station. Cut in right before the chevron while I was going... 2kph (I don't lanesplit in slow traffic).

The Toyota van behind me counterattacked and gradually forced the car to mount the kerb

A lot of drivers do ride bikes, or used to, so they know how it felt. Oh, and did I say I love vans :p

at the right turn pocket, when the light not in ur favor and the vehicle in front make a turn. Try not to move together with it, there's a likely hood that it will jam brake. Usually the right junction has "green man" signal for pedestrian. No rush in completing the turn...

Was on the KJE towards Tuas this morning and saw this seriously suicidal riding by a dude on a Super 4.

I suppose the pillion is either his best mate, becos of the way he entrust his life to this kamikaze rider.

Joker swerve in and out among the cars, and almost whack into a CBR/ Fireblade rider.

I think the Fireblade rider royally screwed him after that.

Was on the BKE avoiding the Cub Prix in the slower lanes so I went lane 1, which was going slow enough for me today.

Maintained 3-car length separation as I was approaching a filter lane and wanted the cars chioning to lane 1 to take the space in front, instead of squeezing in from the side.

This silver Toyota insisted on letting me pass first so I sped up a little to hop past him. Still maintaining at least 3 car separation from the Jaguar in front.

Suddenly I detected the smell of a burning tyre.

I immediately applied emergency brakes as a loud screech was emitted from the Sonata taxi in front of the Jaguar, which slowed down suddenly from 85 to 30 for NO REASON whatsoever.

The taxi proceeded very slowly and cautiously on Lane 2 thereafter while all the bikers stared at me as they lanesplit past.

Sometimes, lanesplitting is safer than following within the lane.

I heard the enforcement will be going tough for riding past in between two vehicles.. also in the forum (forget when was tat..) some drivers are complaining against riders who goes in between vehicles... wat a DUCK...!!!

Pls be-careful man, I fell before on a slow speed and the injuries I collect was awfully painful. Can't imagine if he's hit at high speed... bike is a fun ride, don't end up as a tool of destruction and death.
