Today while riding.....

When I came downstairs to the carpark under my block, I saw my bike lying on the floor. :(

There was a new black tire mark on the rim of the front wheel, so it's obviously a hit and run. So I called the police and they told me to lodge a police report at the nearest neighbourhood police post. Took some pictures. Uprighted the bike and went to work. :(

From the looks of it, its going to be a "Despite our efforts..... Aiya cannot catch lah!" letter from the IO, because didn't even take a copy of the photos I took. :(

On the way home, some idiot driver almost got into a head on collision with me in the carpark outside the Police post. Bugger driving with HP and made an extra wide turning coming into the carpark, his right wheel coming almost to the kerb on my left. Then we both e-brake and he look at me I look at him then he reversed to get back to his side of the road out of my way. :nono:

Then xXxRatedxXx saw me posting this and replied "Cool Story Bro!" :faint:

damages? knn, hit and run didnt even bother to upright the bike. what a ****.

today while riding, saw TP with fire engine + congestion on the road just outside my office. the kaypoh drivers on my side of the road as usual, caused a congestion, busy looking at the accident rather than the road :dot:

Today while riding... while turning towards lentor ave from yishun ave 1, a big big box from a truck fell off to the ground beside me and landed slightly after the zebra crossing. Luckily I never took the other filter lane or else sure flattened.

today while riding along CTE northbound

noticed some blocks of stuffs on the road and had to avoid them

turns out to be Styrofoam blocks (1ft x 3-5" x 3-5")

rode further up, found the culprit lorry who was overpacked and the styrofoam are flying all over the highway

got the license plate number and contacted LTA to clean up the highway + give them the license plate number

Penang Rd near miss 12 Jan 2012 ard 11pm.jpg

[gotta thank googlemap for main pic]

A rough diagram of what happened on 12 Jan 2012 ard 11pm along Penang Rd.

The tip of the red arrow indicates where the front of the bus was, and the orientation shows roughly the bus' direction and position as it drove out of the bus bay, and cut across the road, without wanting to wait for Bus 1 in front to move off.

And yours truly is the blue arrow, who veered into the rightmost lane to avoid the bus as it came out into the middle lane and then into half of the rightmost lane, and my having to squeeze between bus and kerb to avoid a collision. No chance to look behind for cars coming up... but a car did brake hard and it was an Ah Beng who also swore at the bus driver as we all stopped at the Killiney Rd junction. Self-control kept me on my bike instead of banging on the bus door and giving the bus driver lecture.

Instead, I rode all the way to Bt Batok interchange and gave the bus office there a verbal tirade. They kept apologising but I told them why apologise for a bad driver? And better still, they told me that guy got his licence for a month... and I said, that's horrible, and I almost got killed by him. I told him that I had literally plucked my life back from Death himself! They asked me to wait till he returned to the interchange but I said, no need because there is no use.

Someone up there surely loves me deep deep...

To Mr Bus Driver of SMRT 106 with plate no SMB47B plying Penang Rd at ard 11pm: you DEFINITELY dont belong on the road cos you will get someone killed.

And to SMRT - MRT screwed up also not enough, but must send one-month old drivers out on the streets driving like they are the only ones on the road.

Ride safe, pple.

This happens far too often for me, I got lucky several times, dunno where they get their license or whether they are local or not.

Well, he was South Asian in appearance. Not sure if local or not, given our recent immigration policies.

Honestly, i am simply lucky to be alive, and not just another statistic.

so more or less can tell something's size at a quick glance

Will i get into trouble if i get up the bus at the next busstop and give him a real dressing down? Sometimes ti think they ought to get someone to rant at them to wake up their idea.

good illustration, wow i never really gave a second thought that buses will just cut out like that. Now at least we will be more careful when passing by them. It is these out of the blue, not expected surprises that's the worst.

Thanks for sharing!
