Today while riding...

 

I was on the left most lane waiting for the traffic light to turn green under the hot sun. finally the light turned green and zoom I went.

 

then 50m ahead I see this lancer coming out of the filter lane. gave a short horn to gain attention. thinking the car will stop I proceeded.

 

however, the car continued moving. filter between the lanes to siam him. damn close!!!

 

the car then proceed to change lane to the right and nearly got hit by the oncoming pickup cause he didn't check blind spot! luckily the pickup driver had fast reflexes!

 

then traffic light again. stopped beside the lancer to tell him try to speak to him nicely. but the driver actually ignored me totally.

 

I am sure he saw me beside his car. he then adjusted his mirror, moved his specs and took his phone out. totally ignoring my existence. didn't want to touch his car to prevent complications.

 

then traffic turned green and he just went off. just gave him my thumbs down and continued.

 

why got these kinda drivers?!?!?!??!

 

Glad to c fellow rider willing to go out of their way to try and tell pple regarding their dangerous behaviour on e road. Such cases tat u encounter, e only thing left tat i would do is beside him horn~~~~~~~~~ all e way attract attention an pointing at him.

 

If caught on video these type of drivers i would classify as dangerous as they r not willing to admit their mistakes thus to TP e video will go.

A lot of SMIDSY cases can be avoided if you use your highbeam in the day. That, plus really really bright bulbs/HID.

Something happened to me just now ard 6pm at AYE towards tuas near jurong bird park..

Was travelling fast at lane 1 with 2 cars infront of me.. Suddenly i notice that the 1st car infront was swaying to the centre divider.. Thot maybe that driver sleepy so i try to avoid it and change to 2nd lane. But what happens next was so fast and slow.

 

Suddenly, the car infront of me swerved to 2nd lane also.. What i saw was a 2m long wooden pole with at least a thickness of 10x10cm lying on the road.. The car tried to siam but he rAn it over.. The thing flew about waist length and im heading to its direction. It was too fast for me to swerve to other lane as traffic is quite heavy..i had no choice but to braise for impact. Held on to my handlebar tightly and hope nothing worst will happen as i have my dearly pillion with me. And when the moment comes, i braked and it hit my tyre!! It wobbled very hard but i was ready for it.. Didnt saw where the wood went and i hope its by the shoulder.. I was stunned for the next 5mins and tried to recollect what just happened.. Im blessed today. I thank my God for that.

A year plus back, a car in front of me swerved out of the way, revealing a huge rock about the size of a grapefruit. I couldn't go anywhere but into it. The impact lifted my front up in a wheelie, which thankfully landed right. Once I stopped at my destination, I inspected the bike and found that the rim was dented at the impact spot. Had to replace.

Today got hit by two cars in a span of 5 minutes. One at lane filter lane.

 

As the view was blocked by a van on my right I inched out to get a clear view of the traffic on the right. Just as I stopped the driver at the back bonked my bike from rear. It was not a hard bonk. Turn around and driver still got cheek to ask what I was doing with his expression hintin I was wrong. I gave him the 'are you blind gesture'. Seeing that there were no damages I just ignored him and be on my way.

 

Traffic clear and signalled and exited the filter lane and went to lane 2. Ahead was a rider. Both of us going straight. Suddenly a car from the left decided to swerve into 2nd lane without even signalling. Rider horned and driver quickly swerved back in and not checking or signalling again the same driver did the same stunt again this time with me just beside him. Braced myself and got hit on my left. Was able to maintain balance and then stopped. Driver wind down his window and shouted at me asking how I ride. I answered him back. "How you drive? Change lane no need signal or check is it?" He gave me that expression like I am wrong and wind up his window. Not injured or anything I continued my way as I do not want to be late for an appointment. Looked at mirrors and saw the driver moving slowly trying to avoid me being beside him. at the next traffic light which was red.

 

Should have brought my cam. Things always happen when I never bring my cam. Note to self bring cam anytime when goin to ride.

first day using Hero2. Captured 1 TP, 1 LTA and 1 private ambulance while on my way to work this morning..

I'm quite surprised tat u let them go. E next time if u r unlucky to meet these drivers or other riders meet these drivers, they may not be so lucky. Not to mention both ur cases they r not repentant. glad u r ok though but shocked especially regard 2nd case.

i feel bad about this, but i think really need car drivers to kana with bikes with onboard cam and newspaper highlighting that.. eg,biker means case with onboard camera.

totally agree with u on this. I'm working in the retail sector and i've met a fair share of Sgreans with fu*cked up attitude. They will always try to act fierce and portray themselves to be the victim (they already know they are in the wrong), but when confronted with supporting evidence, their attitude can change 360 degrees with no apology and act as though nth has ever happen

Then I did something I had not done before.

 

After washing my bike yesterday, I went on to briefly wash that bike.

Now its sparkly clean and it gives me satisfaction.

I'm quite surprised tat u let them go. E next time if u r unlucky to meet these drivers or other riders meet these drivers, they may not be so lucky. Not to mention both ur cases they r not repentant. glad u r ok though but shocked especially regard 2nd case.

What to do? I did approached the other rider and ask him to be a witness if the driver want to twist story. I could have parked my bike lie down and scream dramatically in pain but I do not want to be late for an appointment.

almost bang into that rider eh. but i find this way too common alr lar. some driver just way too indecisive. for example, wanna drop passenger at the side of the road. on hazard light, slow down, brake, accelerate, slow down, brake, accelerate then SUDDEN BRAKE! nv know when they gonna stop.

This morning while riding to work, saw something unusual and wished I had a cam to show.

 

Was lanesplitting between lane 1 n 2, when 2 cars were closed in and I stopped as couldnt squeeze through. Kup behind me didnt wanna wait, hence weaved into the lane 2, wanted to lanesplit between lane 2 n 3. Just as he was about to move into the lanesplit, I heard a loud "Heeeeeey!". Turned around curiously, and saw a caucasian riding a bicycle lanesplitting between lane 2 n 3, and the kup almost banged into him as he didnt check. While the caucasian was riding past, this was what I heard him shout: "I'm teaching you, you've gotta f**king look!" all the while pointing at the kup rider. End up the kup just let him pass and rode behind him.

 

My thoughts: Both at fault here I guess. Cyclist should never be lanesplitting (correct me if I'm wrong). While the kup also didnt check clear before proceeding to lanesplit. However if it was a motorcycle instead of the bicycle, the kup might have been able to notice due to the headlights and size.

 

Any thoughts?
