the only commercial we see from TPs are so subtle on DUI, and so BLAH on motorcycle riding..

 

and NONE on handphone driving..

 

seriously they should just publish the statistics for minor/major accidents that were lodged in their database for the following:

 

1. bike vs bike

2. car & other >4 wheelers vs car & other >4 wheelers

3. car vs bike

 

confirm plus chop that the stats for 2 and 3 is sky high.. then we will expect the STANDARD answer that ownership of cars is higher, hence the representation isn't that accurate, and blah blah blah..

I cant do tat, i will do something even if i noe some or many of e pple will f care. Then I'll c wat i can do in e situation. If cant do anything so be it. If i can do something then good. But if i do nothing = nothing. Doing something = chance of making 1 person learn his or her lesson.

Sadly it is very difficult to capture a proper caught in e act video. If on ur computer u can c clearly e using phone action, should consider sending to Tp. I can email u a template if u need.

actually at 36 sec mark, can see clearly he got the guilty conscience of keeping the phone down to his side rather than steering wheel.

TP mentioned they got plain-clothes prowling, meaning to say nobody knows who they are. so let the drivers play guessing games! smile and you are on candid camera!

don't bother flashing or horning in future.

 

you might get yourself into dangerous situations when you meet road rage drivers. happened to me once. after i horn and flash when he was driving too slow on lane 1, he tailgated me and tried to force me off road, i quickly lanesplit and escape.

 

 

you must always remember we are on the losing end, and our purpose is just to get to our destination in 1 piece, not to educate other road users how to drive/ride.

 

just move on and ride away. i keep telling myself that to stay level headed.

Actually, there was a similar vid shown upon getting driving licence as well. I remember commenting on how I watched the vid for the 4th time!

Its the same video. What I meant was a different video of car accidents taking lives of others like videos of accidents caused by texting/using of phones and etc.

@CSV. Cant do tat. Kind of goes against my principle of "seeing something wrong, do something". I guess if someday i become on e bad end of things then maybe I'll give up my principles. But before tat sry to sad i will continue to "put myself in danger".

 

@duo. I remember when i got car license in 2001 they will show car accident videos. Mostly of self skid, spd and lose control types. But u r correct, dun recall e video having any texting using phone cause accident message but thats in 2001.

 

@WAItforme. Stomp dun ve a good feedback thus i do not noe if anyone actually sees it or if e post is actually posted or not. And i think most would agree tat stomp is a bit er... Inmature? It would be tireding to read mostly pple calling me bo liao.

For CDC, you'll have to watch the video and get the result slip stamped or something like that, then you can proceed to do you license. They played it every 15mins or something like that.

 

I've watched the video 4 times already. Was expecting a 5th time when I got my class 4 but they didn't ask me to watch anything. Straight away go amend the photo card license.

I'd completely understand if the other fella cut into yr lane while on e phone, or if he made a sudden lane change without signalling and made u hit the brakes hard. But if he is simply changing lanes w/o signalling and not causing anyone to slam on e brakes or take evasive action, then why bother?

 

Cos if I saw a biker chasing a car down with horns and end up losing control and wiping out, my first thought will be "Dumb fuuck deserved it for being extra. He could have rode on and saved himself the pain."

It is becoz i am out there long enough which is y i realise tat i should either drive, stop riding or do something about it. Becoz at e rate e problems r growing, it will come to a point when no matter how safe u r as a rider, u will be in danger.

 

But thanks for e concern. Waitforme too, thanks for e concern. I understand where u guys r coming from but i guess this is e stubborn side of me.

 

U r right tat as long as e matter doesnt affect me directly, i should consider letting it slide. i will not go out of e way to educate another road user. So far all these happenings is really just on e way. It is not as if i go out on e road on purpose to find these pple. I would be happy not posting anything ever.

 

As for letting things slide if it didnt affect me, my rationale is simple. I just wan to make e roads safer for myself. Today e driver didnt hit me, but wat if another day he/she does and it was due to a behavior tat i could ve warned him/her about e other day but i choose to let it slide just becoz? I just do not wan to ve the knowledge tat i c something wrong and decided not to do something about it. Sadly i feel tat it is similar to how it is common to see pple c a situation, whip out their phone, take pic not call for help.

Becoz those thoughts is others? E one whose doing it is me and although i also understand "sad but true" but i still wan to do it. Although im not like wat u described as chasing pple down. E car was just in my way.

 

My reasoning as i ve described a couple of times is simple. I just wan to make things safer for myself. If along e way i c something wrong, i "on e way" try to warn e road user. I wont go "out of e way" to do this. I wont like wat u describe chase e road user beyond my capabilities. And i ve also explained, today he/she didnt hit me doesnt mean another day he/she wont hit me. Wat im trying to do is warn them of their habits/behavior which i believe is dangerous.

 

Ps: so ur opinion of serious issue is only when i ve to jam brake or take evasive actions?

well, the video was on, just in case **** happens. chasing the car, not my cup of tea. i was just stuck behind the bugger who was texting and not concentrating on the road.

Just keep doing what you are doing. You never know when it will help another person. Sure it may seem like a small matter to others about not signalling and changing lane. It would still be quite safe if someone still get to press the brakes. It would not be the same if they experienced what I did.
