Had an accident on tuesday at Jurong Island highway on lane 1 at 70km/h. I think a hit a pot hole or a large stone... front wheel jumped up and lost control of my pcx... skidded and rolled for 100m and the bike +50 more m before it hit the concrete wall of a bridge...

was wearing jacket and thick pants so only escaped with road burns on both hands and some minor abrasions on my right leg...

ouch... there goes 1 good bike... :(

be careful around jurong island, the highway might look long & wide with little traffic but it is it is very uneven in elevation & full of potholes.

take care & get well soon.

most important, don't let this put you off from riding.

I agreed with you that its a good practice. With gear 1, we can move off and avoid a bit if some stupid cagers coming up too fast. I kinda realised that on 1st mth with my 2B bike. Since then, i always check my mirrors for fast cars approaching from my rear when i stopped, especially at junctions. Especially to taxi drivers! I will keep flashing my brake light until im sure the driver acknowledged my presence and slowly down to a manageable speed before i relax a bit. If still coming up too fast, i first lift up my hand to catch the driver's attention, sound my horn or quickly squeeze in between.

I witnessed how ineffective is half face helmet in protecting your face yesterday evening.

I was on the way home on PIE towards Changi just before Paya Lebar exit. Traffic was slow. As I was passing a lorry I saw a lady rider laying down on lane two.

I stopped to checked if I can help in anyway, and there was already one abang on scene. According to him she jammed brake and skidded. Luckily traffic was slow and lorry behind her able to stop without hitting her. She was ok all around accept that her mouth was full of blood and injuries to her chin and forehead. I stayed around for a while but move off since the abang is taking care of the situation.

If only she wore a full face helmet .. sad.

Ride safely guys, wear full face helmet!

Left elbow and shoulder dislocated before too... And maybe cos I'm a right hander... Did occupational therapy for the accident and they told me my left hand is halfas strong as my right hand when it's recovered...

recently saw many wearing arai (ram 3/4) open face leh. the amount for an arai open face can get a mid-range full face for most brands

Today while riding, I was overtaking a whole column of vehicles from the left, when a black car switch lane to overtake the slow pickup in front.

Spotted him straying onto the white dotted line and suspected he going to change lane. Horn also don't care just keep cutting in front of me.

Made me brake and go around him.

Its because they have the mentality they are protected by the cage. In their mind they are thinking ' If you dare hit me'. But if you were driving a lorry they sure would have swerved back in the previous lane mainly because their safety is compromised. This is their mentality sadly. Hence why this horn should be equipped on bikes.

Good reactions, hence no risk to rider. Guess it was a rude shock nevertheless. U gonna send to TP and see show bro? I would love to do that.

today is one of those days where no matter how hard i try to concentrate, the mind refuses to stay focus on the road.

was at shears bridge when cab in front of me jammed brake cos all the nincumpoots in front all slow down to see vehicle break down on the road shoulder. reacted slightly slower than usual and ebraked. rear begins to slide around and i took note that i should not be able to stop in time. luckily the rear slide to an angle which i can safely squeeze between the cars and quickly get away from the danger. phew~

u need to be young and reckless to become old and wise..... if u survive

Naim, don't submit to TP.

When cornering, making a right hand turn, under highway code, you have to give way to vehicles making a left turn.

In the video, you went to the left lane which the car is coming out of, you had to give way.

Later submit already you get yourself into trouble.

Don't submit, not safe lah.

Really ah? Hmmm ok ok. Wont then. But i tink this is one of those times where highway code doesnt make much sense. Hw i give way to him? Im leaning over while he has a safe pocket to stop in. This is just plain road manners and common sense IMO.
