althought i did complete quite a few but still not that satisfied

cos the paintwork is not tt prefect.

 

i did thougt of buying compressor but is too...exps...$$$$

abt $400++

 

as 4 the stickers u hv 2 dip in the water than take it out & paste

let it be abit watery so tt is easy 2 remove when u paste wrongly

if is done use a tissue 2 soak the water fm the stickers (dont wipe it)

 

I had no problems with the decals... But it's the paintwork tat sends me running to the kitchen to look for some panadols..

 

When I use the spray cans, the effect is not very good n I had to do multiple coats to get the colour. Then the gloss topcoat tat I've got is not glossy at all...

 

I went to check out the prices for an air gun n found it too expensive.. Furthermore, I do not know how to use it either.. So juz got to bear with wat I have n do the best out of it lor... But still feels a little sad when I see my bike.. keke

Juz saw one model shop at IMM(#02-26)..selling R1(silver) at $38.50 n Haya(blue) at $36.50,Evo7 at $38.50,dunno if it's cheaper or same as outside..pls help

I'm not sure how will it turn out if u use those nippon pylon spray paints..

Better do a test first before spraying them on ur bike as the plastic materials r kind of thin n u wun wan to spoil them..

 

I bought my spray paints at the shop where I got my haya and they costs me about $7.. I think..

 

You can also use paint brush but u must put on a thicker coat so as to let the paint "settle" down, den u will not have brush marks.. Dun get those cheap china brand brushes.. The bristles will stay as part of the finishing..

U can try going marina square... Lots of models and price is quite reasonable. Or try Hobby Focus at Far East just above Burger King. The rest of the shops ard orchard are somewat more ex.

Depend on the brand and model... I actually went survey some shops yesterday. Badger compressor cost ard 400++. Sparmax got $280 and $300+. There's one particular one -- I dun know the brand and I think cost ard $260... The boss keep saying its good.... But I have my doubts lah...

 

The cheapest I saw is a very simple model made of plastic. Costing ard $160, it has the smallest pressure output...

Sorry... I dun know the exact location. But u can find a handful of gundam models, and paints. Heard the boss used to be from the bugis model kit shop. If I ever get my air-brush, I intend to buy a terran marine (starcraft) from that shop. The shop is quite big and got many diff model that other shops dun sell.

Hey I went to the marina square hobby shop last evening. Managed to get the name card. It's at 3rd level unit 240. I left there disappointed b'coz the terran marine(starcraft) I wanted was sold out. I was told dat depending on whether Blizzard agrees to extend contract to allow its production

 

Well, I went looking for R1 too. But I couldn't find it at Bugis and marina. But I did see a rather cute JC gal went bugis to buy a CBR1100 model haha.

 

Anyway, hope u can find the model that u r looking for.

If I remember clearly, u need to pour some of the paint in small amount and mixed with the Tamiya thinner to control the viscosity.

Then can start painting using the brush liao loh,

best is to keep a constant gauge for mixing the paint and thinner,

otherwise, it may not come out nice and even.

 

Sometimes if the paint needed for the parts are quite small, (and u feel lazy), can juz use the paint straight w/o mixing...

I think oni tamiya water based paint can use on the spot. Oil based and enamel paints must mix with thinner first.

The last time that I saw the model is at the model shop at Bugis. I think they should have, if not can try the one at Far East Plaza... Not sure whether the uncle have it though..

bugis shop also dun haf le.....i tried looking for it last week...haiz....maybe i shd haf asked, rather than looking ard for it myslf....
