there's no DRZ ones leh... if have, i also want..

Hi bros, the Suzuki DRZ diecast came out years ago, i think.

The brand is New Ray.

You can probably still find at certain toy sections at Metro or other malls.

I will keep a lookout for you guys.

Else, you can try your luck on the ebay or online shops.

I have been collecting such diecast bike models for >8 years and own probably 120 of these stuff. hehheh... :)

hi can you advice me where did you get your GS Diecast, I wish to get one for a friend's birthday

You can try your luck at Taka, Metro or Kiddy Palace. (I cant recall seeing any more stocks at Taka though.)

But the GS came out about 2 years ago, and is quite a popular model.

Nowadays, I rarely see it on the shelves already.

Thanks for the heads up.. I'm not a fan of Die-cast, IMO, they are very fake..

I prefer plastic kits.. I can make them look better than just out of box kits..

Hi all,

I have been looking for this scaled model but have yet to come accross it.

The ST1100 Pan European.

Anyone see it before?

Appreciate it if you can let me know if you have.

Cheers

I dont think there ever was a discast model for the ST1100. Or at least I've not seen before locally over the past years.

Saw in the Tamiya thread, someone had this :lovestruck:

How I wish I can buy this with Monster III theme :cheer:

Tamiya ones, you got to build yourself bro. Takes time, but the payoff is great. :D

Do anyone knows where to buy the 1098 model?

Try Kiddy Palace or Metro at Causeway point. I seen it 1-2 weeks ago.

Ive seen alot of sportbike diecast...i own some too...but after i got a GS diecast...i wondering is there any AT,Vstorm, Transalp...those adventure bike model....info place to get?

I dun tink there's any for AT, V Strom or Transalp. But I've seen a Kawasaki KLR 650 before at Causeway Point Metro or Kiddy Palace.

Where is stargek ?

Stargek is the official Tamiya distributor in Sg.

It's just next to the Hong Leong Yamaha shop at Ubi. Just next door, you cant miss it.

Mon-Sat open til 6pm.

Sun til 3pm.

Hi bro, you can actually buy the diecast Maisto, then add some DIY stuff like mud, rust, exhaust soot and stuff like that to make it look more 'real' if you got the time.

The effects can be done with paint/ touch up stuff you can purchase from Tamiya. :D

the model itself is quite disappointing.. blobs of metals being casted without considering proper scale.. the shape of the bike and geometry looks totally out..

no offense to die cast fans..

here's some of my detailing works attached..

sadly, i had stopped almost for 6yrs.. hoping to rekindle the fire and start working on the rest of my models..

Below is a high gloss rear mud flap for RCV..

added ST21 CF decals..

Camel version RCV (Max Biaggi)

CamelRC211V.jpg

Brembo Calipers galore..

I didnt use the Brembo Decal provided, instead painted them on..

IMG_0015.jpg

Lower the front forks 3mm for more aggressive looks..

Tamiya makes the front too high..

IMG_0022.jpg

Using of photoetched parts..

every little thing counts..

CowlingCompare.jpg

Filling up the gaps inside the empty main frame..

this frame is heavy!!

Some other photos..

creating that Titanium look..

ExhaustWeathered.jpg

Putty filled swingarm..

tamiya makes it empty..

filed out the chain adjuster for PE parts..

IMG_0007.jpg

bored the exhaust tip to make it look better..

IMG_0031.jpg

Using of PE parts..

IMG_0028.jpg

Comparing the CF decal with real bike..

CFcompare.jpg

all CF-ed!!

each part is done by using 1 piece of decal..

This is the detailing i did for the exhaust..

bore the exhaust tip to make it thru, file to thin the tip to look more realistic..

blacken the insides for the used look..

Nice work!

You use spray on canisters or air guns, i suppose?

Great effect on that exhaust!

I've been working on scale models(mostly ships) for probably a good part of the last 15 years, but didnt get to the spraying part.

Recently dabbled on motorcycle scale models, but the results is amateurish. haha...

One day if they decide to release a FZ1 model, i am going to buy a dozen and spend the next 1 month at home! haha...

For that bike that you did, how come you got so many sets of calipers?

You actually sand down the tyres, didnt you? ;D

Cheers!

Actually I do have some fighters, warships and tanks that i had yet venture into..

I'm doing a series of RC211Vs.. doing them 1 shot as some parts requires some mixing of paints..

especially calipers, i used enamel paint to airbrush the gold, then acrylic to flush paint the Brembo letters..

i dun think Tamiya will be coming out FZ1 unless Rossi rode it as some Yamaha Anniversary or won some championship with it..

i did sand the tyres down..

maiso is perfect from far but from perfect

the finishing & detailing is alright but still lacking.

no particular models or brands in mind though

Most people go through life following the crowd.

Others think for themselves.

They go their own way.
