The Softails, Dynas & Tourers will fit the cruiser billing perfectly. The VRods would be more like muscle bikes.

There are several Sportster models and I would think only the Custom fits a cruiser tag. My Sportster Sport has short handlebars and mid-mount foot pegs (thigh-calf angle amost at 90degrees, even closer to the body than a Phantom). The riding posture is somewhat agressive and the bike does beg to be whacked sometimes. Adequate torque is available at all gears. Triple disc brakes complete the streebike persona :D

Ur bike is almost a streetbike la. But streetfighters have certain seh, and the sportster sport always comes across to me as a cruiser trying to fit into the streetfighter gang.

My first bike was a Kawasaki KRR150ZX Super Kips.

I'd chose to get a sportsbike as it would be easier to learn more aspects of riding on a sportsbike than any other bike.

Umm... need some help here... is there a reason why you said that sportsbikes is easier to learn?

Biking is something that everyone can learn and enjoy! :goodluck:

It will certainly help IMO.

I am also looking for a wider handlebar for both comfort and style.

I travel long distances daily. But i frequently meet traffic jams too... So i'm thinking again and again.

Valarie has the stock handlebar idling at home, u may want to contact him to give it a try or something.

Question on Engine oil checking...

During Warming up for few min(recommend by manual)

after i shut off the engine and check my oil... i found that the dip stick .. one side i like over the range and the other side is like only 1/4 within the range..

so which one is the correct measurement?

By during a long ride after and check my oil.. i found that the oil is on the high range side...

my lower back hurts too..hmm maybe i'm in the same category as you..or maybe its my old injury due to sports..hmm dude update me if you find a diff after you change can? ty..

The ergonomics of a bike is determined by the handlebars, seat height and the footrests. Given that the footrests are already so far ahead, I guess you can only find a small difference if you swap to the wide bars that are canted back towards you (dunno the official name).

On a side note tho...I dunno if I'm of much help here. I don't even have a back problem with my sportsbike, and I find the Phantom exceedingly comfy...other than a numb backside after a really long ride.

Having installed arguably the widest beach handlebars on a Phantom (with the exception of madman's Pinky :p), let me highlight a few negative points about the long handlebars.

You MUST learn to live with these if u wanna change to long bars

1) parking will be a problem in narrow lots, once u pull your bike upright, left and right also may knock into other ppl's bikes. U may even get stuck.

2) more difficult to squeeze between cars. I seriously suggest that u abstain from squeezing between cars until u get used to the handling of your new handlebars

3) more difficult to U-turn, you must bank more or use the "crab" style i.e. one foot down

4) sometimes its REALLLY a tight squeeze to get between the gantries of carparks.

5) your bike front will feel a lot lighter, which means u will wobble a lot more when moving from stationery (especially with pillion). This will reduce as u gradually get the hang of the new handling of your bike.

6) if u join the 1st/2nd link squeeze for petrol often, u'll have lots of ppl "tiak"-ing your mirrors.

Please consider carefully if you change to wide bars, and make sure you do it with your eyes wide open. I know so coz I've been there and done that...

actually, u can add a RIDER(not pillion) backrest to support your back. it will support your back and will really ease your backache. i've done mine before with a so call "flip up" pillion seat. when not pillioning anyone u can flip up the seat to become your backrest. but i have remove it liao...(no pix)

but some guys in the forum had seen it. maybe u can ask them how it look like?

those who went for the Big Bike Feast might have seen it.

if u need help in making these, we can always discuss on it. :thumb:
