There are people who change at 5k; with topping up of course I hope. I used to change monthly with spark and air filter regardless of 1k or 2k or 3k, most of the time not even 2k

Not much diff, only aesthetics. Still the same old 200cc 'comfy cruiser'.

I'm okay with logo flaking off but the waterproofing is important ;) You won't wear it in the sunny weather I hope, I only wear them when its raining heavily back then. Then when I enter offices and forget to take them off, I'll sweat :giddy:

When you refer to 5k, is it specifically to the ta200 or other bikes? o_O

I see then the ta200 is the fuel indicator which is really to the benefit. I have an impression that the fc is better as well. But oh well. im happy with my mileage on the old horse. :cheeky:

Yeah i agree. i tried it for crusing during a cool day and goodness. Sweat sweat sweat till i buay tahan stop at road shoulder.

For the OGK pants what I've experienced was that the pants near the ankles leaked some, but I'm not sure if its because of the very heavy rain and also, I'm wearing the pants the other way round because there's a small tear in the front due to self skidding a few months back. Anyone knows if a decent pair of pants can be bought separately?

Oh, the design of the OGK pants is also makes it a little awkward to put on with shoes, as the mesh inside gets tangled up with my feet. The ankle/calf area has a velcro fastener design which I don't find very good, anyone knows of pants with zips instead?

Agree.. i wonder what the mesh is for. The velcro part abit lame also.o_O

an ex cl2 rider gave me his Akrapovic Hexagonal set of rain coat, ain't bad. You can try HKL for that set.

5k refer to ta200 of course  .

With fuel indicator won't differ to me, I need the reserve only ;) The difference which would be useful could be an RPM meter.

You can loosen the sleeves velcro fasting when its not raining, it'll be much cooler when you're on the move.

Ever wondered why some sports pants have them?

Never considered the velcro length could be designed for riders who are bigger size probably or to not spoil the looks of the bottom?

Here is a weired thing happened tonight. When I accelerated when the light turn green at a intersection, one of my mirror fell off. One the glass fell off and the frame is still on. When I stopped and went back to pick it up. It has broken into hundreds of pieces. Obviously cars have run over it.

I wonder if it is ok to ride a bike with only one mirror in Singapore? I do see some bikes in the parking lot only have one mirror.

BTW, I bought this phantom two weeks ago. I found no tool set in it. Does anyone know where I can buy a Honda tool set?

TA200 now.

i bought 2 cheapo pairs at Regina for $10 for both and it's lasted longer than any of my 'branded' ones. I'm keen to try the acclaimed '$70' RS Taichi ones tho.

Me me. I change around 4-5km ever since i earn service pay (balls) for NS. Use good ones, they serve well (with proper top-ups).

The mesh thingies, i always cut them up off sports shorts and rainpants, coz they tend to create ringworm and abrasions. And it's so difficult to shove your legs into it with non-smooth soled shoes.

Not legal. Dont gamble on TP's mood - or rather, your own safety.

A simple tool set from a DIY store would suffice for now, once you know your bike better, you'll know which tools you tend to use more.

I have the best signature.

Midview building sells stuff in pair, in fact most shops sell in pair. If you stay near st 23 might as well get my 2nd hand pair :cheeky: or you want left side only? the other time someone asking for my right side I think

Hmm I wore my Nike and sec sch pants with webbing, very comfy I find it :cheeky: some people don't like, they'll cut it away :giddy: its actually supposed to be comfortable instead as the your thighs are a lil cushioned with the web against your pants ;)

not really, read up on insufficient tyre pressure can cause 50% excessive wear. :thumb:

Just take note of these general pointers while pumping tyres.

Higher pressure:

- Lower fuel consumption

- Lower grip

- Too high will cause uneven wear and tyre damage

- Too high may also cause tyre to blow easily (this is when its extremely high pressure and load)

Lower pressure:

- Higher fuel consumption

- Better grip

- Too low will also cause uneven wear and damage to the tyre walls

General guidelines for TA200 tyre pressure:

- Recommended tyre pressure as per manual, Front:200 kPa, Rear:200kPa

- Rainy season you may lower pressure ~10 kPa for more grip (safety)

- Dry seasons you may increase pressure by ~10 kPa for better FC

- When carry high loads (pillion or have many boxes) frequently, increase pressure by ~10-20 kPa

My setup and preference:

- 3 months old Metzeler Lasertec "Soft Compounds"

- Loads:

- My weight - ~65kg

- Pillion weight - ~45kg (frequent pillioning)

- Boxes - 1x E45 + 2x E21 (assume always loaded)

- Preference:

- Dry Season - Front: 220kPa, Rear: 230kPa

- Rainy Season - Front: 210kPa, Rear: 200kPa

- Will decrease the pressure as the tyre age.

Bro, i think u should try and save on other things and not EO. It may result in other damages in the long run and that will definitely cost you more than the EO changes you have saved.... IMHO.

60+ LAB, if you stay near Boon Lay market can go around looking see how much is Aeroblade II there. Remember I saw a shop selling OGK coats there when I was meeting someone to go to PG.

60+ For Aeroblade II and FF5, FF5 I've heard some bad reviews. My previous Aeroblade II was :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

yup, too bad aeroblade II phased out.

ok, so based on the reviews i believe the Aeroblade II is better than the FF5 series right? i will try to find it then, if cant find means i have to get the FF5 lo, thanks jB :)

I was quoting yasman

Was a newbie then ma. I asked the ah pek to change my EO. Then he put one litre of a not so known brand semi syn EO and 500ml of HI-Power oil treatment(in a can). So far okay la but i am intending to change to the maxima synblend 20w50 and purchasing my maxima chain wax at ubi planet motors. Any comments?

Btw Im intending to change at 1500km during this try try different brands period but after satisfied with a particular brand, i think i will go 2000km per change.

Yeah Maxima is good. I use 20/50 too. So far so good. About the chain wax, i bought the grey coloured one from them. They have 2 colours one is grey the other is like brown. Both up to personal preference and both works the same i heard. Anyways, next one i might try the brown one... white one got bubbles... i think brown one dun have....
