honestly,in my 1/2 yr of riding, i havent wash carb even once..mabbe tts why i got backfiring.

on a side note,i had common loud backfiring b4 i had my air filter replaced after riding 10000km.after replacing it, i experience lesser back fires, and much much softer ones compare to last time. mabbe because new filter=more air, then air fuel ratio better.less air=too rich thus backfire??

just one way to reduce backfiring occurances.

backfire is cause by the fuel valve hidden below the tank.. its a common problem in TA200..all u need to do is just to get it change

guys,

recently i rode my ta200 on the expressway and travel at 80km/h i tent to experience a bouncing effect...

meaning i rode on a straight road.. by right i should have those smooth riding effect.. but somehow i feel up and down and i must slow down inorder to reduce the bouncing effect.... but sometime is ok...

what wrong?

is my shock absorber? or something wrong with my engine therefore it wouldn't give me a smooth riding?

Posted

is ur suspension set to the lowest aka the softest? if yes then it'll absorb every single bump in the road.. so u'll be bouncing up and down, BUT.... u'll have a smoother ride as compared to when u set the suspension to hardest.. one word of advise tho, dun corner too fast cos u mite seriously bounce out of control..

Hi people... have been reading this forum and find it very informative now i got a burning question myself...(still a newbie..)

today was lubing my chain and find something shocking! one of my chain link has cracked!

(pardon my paint drawing)

1)How? will the crack worsen and the chain break? (anytime soon?)

Went to Planet 2 or 3 weeks ago to tighten my chain and the mechanic told me that my chain is jagged and need to change soon.. didnt saw the crack at that point. He said my chain are uneven and looks like a ladder in small part.

And asked him for the price of a set of chain n sprocket.

2) he quoted 130 for TA200 stock chain.. is it ok?

No problems so far in running, even at 110km/h except for the loud sound sometimes... hope i still can use it for tml! (vdae)

thanks for any advice!

Hi pple, i have change my chain and sprocket. 3rd party (D.I.D brand) at 120 bucks at Planet. Ah Chong said that the chain crack wasnt serious, but my chain was uneven, going to 吃大便 according to him. So changed it and now riding seems smoother!

Hello all, I am doing my own engine oil change for TA200. So does anyone know which brand is best in terms of performance vs value for money. Currently using 4T semi-syn raid, the one used by ah koon. And also, LAB's engine oil is it the cheapest, or does anyone know of any shops selling engine oil at reasonable good prices? Cash and carry type, excluding labour, coz i am doing on my own. Thanks for the help......:help:

Just my opinion, I feel that Maxima Semi Syn is very good. I think it cost $15. Available in Planet, Koon, Motoworld, etc.

Thanks for the interests in the product. I see some price comparison going on for how cheap you can get it, but it is not going to differ much since you only use 1L. For Phantom, I think Ah Koon is hard to beat, he is very specialised in TA150/200 and is a :thumb: and reputable mech who you can trust.

A good mech isn't about how cheap you can buy certain things, if that is so, then all shops can close down except one or 2. Good mechs make sure you are safe on your bike and will only recommend you to fix things that need fixing. Even if the individual service is slightly more costly when you price compare, overall there is still cost savings as you won't kena unnecessary BS jobs or create more problems for you (just read the various comments on the 'cheap' shops).

Hi everyone,

whenever i kick down from gear #2 to gear #1 and Neutral to gear #1, there's a cling sound audibly loud enough that can be heard coming from the left hand side of the crankcase, what could be the possible problem?

sometimes it's difficult to feel the gear #3 when going up from gear #2 as well..

Kindly please advise..

Your rpm was too high when you dropped to gear 1.. does it happen when your bike is already stationary without revving?
