Here's my experience with a service provider...

*I have heard of "law" suits of service provider / companies suing people who may have "different" opinions of them... So I'm gonna keep this "nameless".

Not too long ago, I did use one of the services mentioned... But @ the end of it... was not exactly very happy with the overall end product. Maybe I was expecting too much? Not too sure.

Here's a summary of what happened.

I will not use any specifics to "pin point" who it is.

@ the end of it, this is what I "saw" after I paid $60 - 70.

- Coolant area was still dirty, not cleaned @ all.

- Brake disk still had brake dust... not alittle bit but quite lot, I had even tried cleaning it myself to confirm that they had missed it out and that it was not a stubborn "stain".

- There were quite afew areas (in the gaps of the fairing) where there were polish residue.

- Found some residue on the logo as well... I had to clean that myself.

- There were some stains on the rims, but I'm not sure if they tried to remove them but they still look the same.

- Some of the dark plastic parts were missed out, I had to clean it myself.

- Rear box was not "polished" @ all... I mean, isn't this part of the bike as well?

- Windshield, there were some stubborn stains, but could be removed... again, nothing done.

Basically, what WAS done.

Washed the bike. (Quick 5 to 10 min job)

Polished the main fairing

Conditioned the dark plastic parts and seat.... That's about it.

Verdict...

You know your bike best.

You may know where and what to look out for...

Therefore you (as the bike owner) IS the best person to clean, polish and condition YOUR bike.

Anyway, all these are IMHO only.

Cheers!

Happy CNY!

I totally agree with you.

And for $60-$70, they damm well better do a fine job.

being very particular, cleaning areas nobody thinks about, clamps, hoses, between every electrical fuse, its best to DIY.

If somebody can do a better job than you and u save time, then they are worth a try :D

Anybody feel discriminated sometimes by service providers ?

I somehow feel that bros who bring new bikes for washing somehow get better attention by the washers. Scrub & polish until very shiny.

When i bring my 6 year old phantom there, they like anyhow anyhow only, less attention to detail. Pay the same price, but get less service because of old bike... lol.

IMHO, I did not even go to those details that you mentioned...

I don't event want to try....

Honestly, I did try the one between Geylang & Old AirPort road and costed me about 20... comparing both... there wasn't much difference to show... except the price...

Honestly, I don't blame them as newer bikes are usually "covered" with dirt which comes off easily.

But for the older / bigger bikes...

But then again, they usually charge more for bigger bikes anyway... then there shoudn't be any difference in the service they render.

attention to detail.

if there is such a service, i would use them.

i spend 4-5hrs a week cleaning the bike very throughly.

even though the end product is very satisfying,

the time could be spent on other non back breaking activities

I wish I could...

But getting old...

Knee problem, cannot squat or kneel....

Standing up and down hurts like hell... No choice... CNY was coming... decided to give it a try... but was quite sadly disappointed.

That's why if I could... I would.:dozed:

I just went to dgapz yesterday... the best wash service i have come across so far in singapore... they really pay attention to detail... and wash and wax every visible part of the bike..... and came quite cheap at only $10... (spent around 1.5 hours on my bike)

the owner rudy is really nice... i heard he plans to conduct wash sessions in different parts of singapore so that people staying in other parts dont have to travel all the way to tampines....

Hi,

You must be Dan which I met you and your R1 while we're having our bike washed.

It's no doubt than Rudy have been providing good service all along.

Good quality, friendly and clean.

Cheers!

any multi storey... so which location which one? that's why i say wait till get 5, or if 3 is fine, then we decide wash where lor... BP, JE, Clementi, like clementi in the middle... if got 2 more say stay BP then I'd say go where the majority are.. if got 2, and both different location we see where the votes go lor..

Just my 2cents~

Anything goes for me, dun mind.. will be more than happy to see my bike in her bestest.. anyway, can also help me find out how much it'll cost? Full service means what? wash + wax + polish? if like mine, how much? does it depends on what make/model? or just bike class?
