People is a newbie getting her first bike. Thus she isa bit "lost" about the procedures of purchasing a bike and kind of worried here... So let's NOT make fun of her and help her and/or give her CONSTRUCTIVE comments.... Rather than keep making fun of her "keeping her bike" in her living room, etc... etc... Just try to put yourself in other people's shoes... All of us have been through the "cycle" of being a newbie, just after getting our hard-earned CL2B and very enthu about owning our first dream... So if we can help, we try to help another fellow biker-to-be, in whatever ways we can... Just my 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000002 cents worth of thot....

*Don't mean to be rude or offend any of the bros/sisters here...*

Not really make fun of her, my friend really parked his bike outside his HDB flat when he was out stationed. He just covered the whole bike up.

dunno leh, but i tink it's not a very good idea to buy a bike w/o obtaining the license 1st.

issit against the law in the 1st place to keep a bike inside a hdb apartment? coz it seems very wrong to me.

Hi can anyone advice?

I've paid an amount of $200 at Albert motor 2 weeks back to book for my bike. I only have a NETS receipt they gave me, no other paperworks.

I've been to other shop but that bike colour i wanted was out-of-stock and managed to saw one at Alberts. So without hesitation, I paid for it. I've yet to pass my 2B but was too excited to get that bike cos they said next shipment dunno have to wait til when or maybe wouldn't take in at all! So I decided to buy it from them.

Can advice if I should get the bike, park it at my place first (w/o COE) just in case Albert cheat my money or delay my delivery when I've passed my 2B? Or leave it to fate and wait til I pass? (test in Sept)

Please help! Thanks

ok... last time i also Bought a 1st hand Kips when i am waiting for my 2B TP test but Sub rider is a friend who help me run in. So onwership is me, when i pass my TP, i can start to ride immediately(cause insurance is included for Owner n sub).

Then when i waiting for 2A test, i book a CBR at ALBERT also with $500 deposite but only took it when i pass on the date itself.

So the answer is , they wont cheat ur money of $200 as long as u got e reciept from them (Nets) and sure u do sign some agreement with them, right?

Now u need to do is to add a Sub rider so that can help u ride it home or wait till u pass ur TP then u go n collect from them.

Fire safety??? Doesn't makes sense leh...if fire safety is really the concern then all HDB units cannot cook, no lightings and no using of electrical appliances already....I really have neighbors staying on the 1st floor pushing their bike into their house leh...

Wow... thanks guys for your many respond. Really appreciate it. If my brother pass the TP test next Monday, I can get him to be sub-rider? But he is younger than me... so does that mean the insurance I have to pay more? He is getting his own bike too... than how huh?

He can own 2 bikes? Insurance cover which bike then? Hmm... confused with all these stuff... so ma fan...

Worst come to worst, I just have to have some patience and hope to pass my TP test in Sept liao. BTW, if i use credit card to pay off the bike is it worth it? The interest how? Hee... anyone to advice?

Depends on what's the interest rate on your credit card and what's your creadit limit...

Think loan from Bike shop carries a lower interest

Just a question, how long will I get the bike when I already book a second hand bike? The transfer and everything, around 3 weeks?

Better check with Albert whether they will charge you a daily bike storage fee or not if you fail (touch wood) your TP test and won't be collecting your bike in September...

If the bike has not been purchased, technically it still belongs to Albert Motor right? So if they decided to charge our dear forummer a storage fee, it would not be ethical or proper at all. I think can take the issue to CASE if it happens?

Anyway, don't we all know about Albert Motor from previous threads in SBF... :sian:

TS mention female only.....can see the responses are soften. And lots more guys replying.

To TS,

Since you already drop the deposit, go back to the shop, request to get your deposit in black and white, and start the payments/installment processes.

From getting your installment plans worked out without the Insurances, to the COE, Road Tax or whatever inspections are needed. You also should already instruct them to put in the IU unit, boxes and extra lights if you want to outfit your bike already.

And during this time, you should work out on getting your safety gears, like full face helmets, decent riding gloves, cash cards, touch & go cards & petrol cards.

Sit down with your brother and someone to work out the budget for the petrol, season parking if you live in HDB flats and whatever parking places you need to go to daily.

And you will find, that your $200/- deposit is chicken feet.
