My Wave S having this similar problem. I changed 3 type of break pad ;

1. Soft type found in Malaysia - less noise.

2. Normal type in Singapore - noisy.

3. Very good type from Japan >$20, still noisy.

4. Change to sport rims, still noisy.

 

The noise lounder than the bike horn. ...nice to alert everybody that I am coming. ...give me the way please. My friend fell shy to sit on my bike. My wife always ask can you do somethings on this ? Because of her I change the a/m 3 types of break pad and rims within 6 months, still noisy.

 

I solve this problem by "losen" (move the screw back) the break line a bit , allow the break paddle foot press down more to have more space, I am not sure actual how much the dimension. I think is more than 2 inch on it original position. After that no more noise from the break drum....

 

You may give a try on this solution. ..it work on my bike.

Anybody interested to start a MO for brake pads ??

Seriously we need good quality brake pads.

 

I'm looking at 2 different brands now.

EBC and DP.

 

These are the part numbers for organic/kevlar brake pads from these 2 companies. Anyone who has the means to bargain a good MO price from the suppliers of these 2 pads are welcome to start the MO.I'm not sure if they have sintered or HH pads for Waves.

 

EBC - FA375

DP - ODP014

Ferodo - FDB2169

 

I this Mezzo is the distributer for EBC while Vector One is for DP.

I feel the stock pads and those available to us are of poor quality.

hi, i will be starting a mo for EBC. Awaiting for the updated price list as there's a change in products and pricing for the latest batch from the distributor, Sportings Motor.

just fix my aprillia disc brake to ma wave with the original nissin caliper.. the brake rocks.. no need change brembo.. just caliper will do.. recommend for those using racing ftrest due to the effect of the rear brake is not strong.. fix also cheap rm55(bracket + workmanship)..

yo bro ringgit.. ahakz.. ask around in sg, all give reason that one cannot lah this one cannot lah.. btw while fixing my bracket i saw yer bike beside this jin fong.. woot was riding it n hes selling it due to some problems he faced..

u will have to change yr yoshi footrest if u intend to change to disc brake.

e current one on yr x-1 does not have e rear brake pump!!!

u gotta change to those kips or 125z ones.

i did a count on e price & give up in e end.

try getting use to yr current ones, at least now yr rear wheel won't lock any more...

hahaha~!!

hmmz~ even those it is more safe, ROV still can pull you in. a friend of mine did it on his rxz and he got pulled in. He was told to revert it to original. forgot the fine too, 2 years back liao~
