anyway the endcan has arrived.. need some alterations to fit..

 

sound was acoustically wonderful!! performance wise had yet try out, but should have improvement in mid-range and reduced engine brake..

what the point to convert it to illegal pipe... u will have problem gg to inspection. give ur self less problem

 

aft inspect liao no need 2 reinspect, mod all u like... Only TP catch u n ask u go inspect, then u will get inspect.

but better to use legal yoshi that illegal pipe. but is it because of the tuning that my yoshi sound softer than the others? Or need to clear carbon by riding with vtec open?

 

tuning. Get a bigger fuel jet nozzle.

this one is the rider liao...u ever seen soft exhaust but fast n loud exhaust but slow??n yoshi just the end can is louder than full system. micron sounds the loudest both ways. but must take out silencer.

 

No offence, but i totally disagree! End can iz no way louder than full sys. Even thou on paper, the specs say that both hv same decibels. Inside the header, theres a restrictor n futher more, stock header pipe's diameter iz smaller than full sys.

my full system at idiling( 1.1krpm) is very quiet. but if u listen carefully, u will notice the sound diff b/w a full system n endcan, cos the headers flow differently. i personally prefer the full system cos it produces a low bassy growling sound at 3krpm n a wolf-like howl when vtec opens. Of course, nothing beats the micron without silencer.

hey would like to ask 1 question i use my super4 with orginal exhaust and i did back fire but why my pipe didn't come out fire but instead black smoke and my friend did the same thing and his with sparks coming out ?? my exhaust spoilt? should i go change a new motor?

passed class 2B 31-08-06 (ex phantom TA200)

passed class 2A 06-11-07 (riding cb400 S1)

passes class 3 17-04-07 (some times)

Got flame come out means got unburnt fuel vapours in the exhaust. What happened means either u didnt rev as hard as ur friend, or ur combustion iz better. If u wan get flame, get a bigger fuel nozzle lor.

the inner wool acts as silencer. Changing it will soften the sound. So nt so noisy.

 

Reason y 5000km is bcos carbon wil b stuck to the wool causing the wool to b nt so gd silencer.

hi bros...i've juz join as a member..hope to get to know the fellow riders here and perhaps share and gain knowledge from the 'lau chiaus'...

 

i've juz installed yoshi full system 2 weeks ago at motor world...juz wondering if i should change my main as well as pilot jet? how much will my FC be affected? [i heard rumors that once u fix dyno, ur FC increase by almost 40%!!:confused: :confused:

 

can the fellow riders here with dyno and changed their pilot jet enlighten me on this urban legend?

 

i went to unity earlier on..was quoted $350 to change my main jet to dyno (no kenso) as well as pilot jet...they'll tune and all but have to leave at the shop for 2 days..

 

they currently have no stock so i'd like to use the time available to do more in-depth research b4 deciding to change or not...

Theres no lau chiau new chiau. Every1 iz here 2 learn n share.

 

It actually depends on what kind of FC u wan or 'willingness 2 spend'. If stock settings wif ur full system, nth much change. U can save money just by tuning ur settings, instead of getting a jet kit. Hwever, a jet kit, even wif itz smallest nozzle, boast a better combustion as the way ur fuel iz injected iz diff. Original iz just 1 big hole in the middle, while Kenso jet iz 3 small holes, positioned a bit like a bowling ball, which spread the fuel more efficiently. Hope u can picture what i mean.

I think the price offered by unity iz acceptable. I bought my Kenso at 220. Kenso iz available at MW if u wan. But i suggest u b present when they do the tuning, so that u can test ur bike performance. I tuned my bike 3 times at my trusted mechanic as first 2 times i didnt like the performance. 3rd time i was fed up, so i made myself free 4 1 day n we tried n tried till i like. But it will take like 1 day for him 2 change the jet size(assuming that he has other customers). So first send in, then next day go test ur bike aft he has done the jet.

The jet(Kenso) come in pairs, size 3, 5, 7, 10, 13, 15, 17. If u use the smallest, then it would b 3, 5, 5, 3. Or 1 lvl higher, 5, 7, 7, 5. I'm using 7 n 10. I hv done porting, using yoshi tri-oval bluesteak firespec n BMC air filter. My FC iz 15.5L for 240km. Mmm.. soot in my exhaust iz quite thick. Haha.. Most ppl will recommend lvl 2. But i felt nt 'Power' enough at high end. My mech said that the RVFs ar using as much as 10 13 or 13 15.

 

So.. first go decide on what u wan. :cool:

coolzblue...u were saying depends on wat FC i am lookin at and 'willingness to spend'....

 

i personally dun mind investing in my ride as i'd want my ride to be safe and reliable...

 

the level of stages u were talking bout..why is there so many stages? what is a recommended level setting?

 

so is it correct fer me to say that upon changing my main and pilot jet, i'll have much more efficient fuel combustion which will result in betta fuel economy?

 

of coz a rider's nature of riding will also affect the FC..but i dun really wack that often..only once in a while...on the long stretch of road after JI checkpoint on my way to work :rolleyes:

 

another question..what is porting? any links on this site regarding this coz can't seem to find a thread bout this... what benefits if i were to do porting?

 

pls pls dun flame me once again for going :offtopic: and asking so many questions :sorry:

Backfire iz ok. Got flame means 2 much fuel vapour, bad fuel combustion. Unless u like 2 c the flame, no really need 2 tune it there..

 

Fuel nozzle.. imagine a spray can. The tip of the spray can got 1 hole where the fluid comes out rite? Thatz what it looks like, operating in ur bike.

If u wan safe n reliable, my opinion iz dun mod ur bike. A stock S4 iz alrdy gd enough 4 ur casual plays. =)

 

If u wan 2 mod, then...

There ar many diff sizes of the jet nozzle. There4, u should understand that the mains ar in the middle 2, while the side 2 ar pilots. The mains can take more 'power' than sides, hence itz size ar bigger than the sides. Thatz y i said in my earlier post, 3; 5; 5; 3. Thatz the smallest jet nozzles, so i say lvl 1. Lvl 2 would b 1 size higher, 5; 7; 7; 5 and hence on. Most ppl would chose lvl 2. I dun hv a recommended lvl for u.

 

Itz supposed 2 hv better FC. But dun expect 2 c much of this in a bike cos the size iz so small compared 2 a car. I state an example, If u hv a car, u change the air filter 2 'racing' filters, it alrdy increase ur HP ard 5-10, but bike, u can hardly feel that. However, this dyno jet will at least gib ur bike a better respond feel.

 

Porting iz slightly machining ur cambers n chroming them, so that it will hv a bigger size. But itz very slight.. unless u thinking of changing ur pistons to racing kit. Umm.. u do noe that sm parts of ur engine has racing kits rite? Piston, camshaft, carbs, gears... But hardly got ppl do them cos quite ex, itz more worth 2 buy class 2 bike. I suggest u get dyno jet ok le. Porting will really increase ur FC. B4 porting, i was going 290km. Aft porting + jet = 240.

 

Yes, a rider's nature will determine the FC. But if u hv the setting that i

m using, u cant really ride slow.. Therefore, do the jet first, cos porting iz irreversible.. Oh ya.. 1 big tip. If u going 4 higher end setting, rem 2 test ur bike on a steep slope. Cos aft my 1st tune, i was stuck at tamp mall exit. 2 much fuel choked my bike n it died down. Stop ur bike mid way on a steep slope, then move off. Need 2 rev abit higher iz ok, so long as ur bike dun die.
