Visor tinting

hi guys

 

any one done the above before?

 

was looking to tint my visor (legally) with a tinted film, just like the one that goes on the car glass panels

 

just wondering if there is a shop that does this service

the problem here is that...

 

as long as your visor is NOT tinted when you bought it... its considered ILLEGAL....

 

even when its tinted when you bought it, it might not allow 80% light (my best guess.. i dunno how much is legal percentage) to warrant it 'legal'

Sorry to correct.. But it's 70% light must pass thru..

meaning only 30% tinted..

 

a clear visor that TP wear is abt 80% light passing thru.. a Arai clear visor(minimally tinted) allows 71% light pass thru.. a tinted Arai visor only allows 20% light pass thru..

 

how I know, kena caught by TP.. with a clear visor in my box, we did the light test using his gadget..

 

so even it's just slightly tinted, it'll fail the legal limits..

Arai got many shades of visors my OEM Arai one allows 71%, which is legal.. i've a anti-fog one which looks much clearer.. of cuz the one in my sig, the tinted one that only allows 20%..

 

legal limit is 70%, so if tested by TP.. anything above that would be fine.. anything below that kena "fine"

you can try the sticker shop beside TP HQ.. or any shops that tint windows, headlight, etc..

 

legal or not, it's only will reveal after being tested by TP..

My evo rs959 helmet is slightly tinted when i bought at lab.They say its the standard issue.But no use one, kena hot sun oso glaring.Donno can pass or not.
