I VERY STRONGLY recommend NOT installing those frame sliders!!!!

Instead, install the frame sliders which which mount farther forward and require a modified water bottle.

In October 2006, I broke my right leg because of the frame sliders I had. While on my brother's driveway, which was covered with wet and slippery pine needles, my right boot slipped while I was not even moving. That caused me to drop my 2006 VFR onto my right leg, causing a compound fracture. The bone came out a few inches above my ankle. I now have a titanium rod and 5 screws in that leg.

In addition to the damage to my leg, an engine mount broke requiring a new engine block. It's unclear whether the engine mount would have broken from a simple gravity fall. While I was in the hospital, my brother's neighbor helped my brother to lift the bike, but they left it in the driveway. The next morning, my brother forgot that it was there and backed his SUV into it, knocking it down again. That may have made it fall harder than a simple gravity fall. In the opinion of the local Honda dealer, the frame sliders I have now would be less likely to cause damage to the bike.

In any case, do get the frame sliders which require a modified water bottle. They are mounted farther forward and less likely to break a leg. Also, I think that they offer better protection to the bike. Off hand, I don't remember where I got them. They are made in England, but there is at least one local distributor. Perhaps someone here knows where they are available. If not, I'll search my files for the information.

I got the 'drill through coolant reservoir' one. It did prevent any damage on the fairing when I drop my bike....

Got mine re-upholstered 2 months ago at Kelantan Lane (2 shops away from Lim Ah Boy) for $60 using a textured non-slip vinyl. Pretty nifty and quick work.

I'd recommend Eugene Saddlery at Jln Besar just before Syed Alwi Rd. His workmanship is very good. $60 for the same seat as vfrT. He can also do a Corbin-like seat if you want...

You can try Juzz Wheels at Bukit Merah Lane too... It is opposite the HKL which has an accessories shop on level 2.

i also recommend Eugene Saddlery, soft spoken guy, friendly thou he works alone. Juz let him done my flip-up helmet cushion, very satisfy w the result, only 60SGD. Reasonable price but can only collect after 1 week. But for seats i not sure yet.

Also to protect yr seats from those cats scratching, try buying those silicon spray used 4 plastic to protect against UV light. It might feel abit slippery while sitting, but at least can keep those cats away, or dogs pee...

another idea is use Tiger balm n apply reasonbly on the seat, its cheap like using Axe Oil

Went Eugene Saddlery and left the bike there for an hour while going sim lim walk eat.

Nice job by them and i prefered the anti-slip which is more durable for $80.

Thanks guys for the recommendation :)

Corbin style? I have Corbins seats on 2 of my bikes and the reason I used them is cos they are more comfortable for longer rides due to the unique foam and the profile of cut. The profile spreads yr butt over a wider base therefore reducing pressure point that can reduce the time needed to reach pain threshold while the foam adapt to yr butt for the same reason.

As for style, IMHO they don't really differ that much in appearance to stock to justify that $200.

If anyone isinterested, I have a genuine Corbin seat for a 98-01 VFR that I may sell if you are willing to pay $150 for + a near brand new Corbin backrest for free. The leather is crackled and the whole seat is heeeavy tho.

Finally, the sliders arrived. Got them from JR for $130 and there's still 1 more set available. Have yet to mount them cos driving up to Genting tomorrow. I'll keep you guys posted on the developments and whether it is as intrusive as some comments on vfrworld suggests. Plus point for me it that I don't have to drill my fairing....

Here is how it should look like when fitted.
