so far,i have a very good experince at bbdc, infact my frens who took pte, told me not too,and sch is more worth it,

as the circuits all there, the instructors give a proper guidance step by step according to the learning progress, and also since they have good links with TP testers, they give u some tips...so makes like way more easier....just that need to book slots in advance....block booking is good....

If the instructor can sleep while you drive that means your driving is safe enough for him to doze of. That is actually a good sign. However, please make sure that he teaches you proper parking.

Pte instructors, normally teach us how to be street smart whereas the school ones trains us to pass test. so it really depends on what u want.

Rebuilding my dreams. But first, the gears

1) WP RS Taichi riding jacket

2) WP riding pants

3) Titanium riding gloves

4) Garmine Nuvi 550 GPS (US$259)

5) WP Komine riding boots

6) Arai Helmet

7) The BIKE of course! :cheeky:

It depends on how many lessons you have attended. If it is only a few, I'd suggest that you drop the private instructor and register yourself with BBDC. Afterall, you'd hardly have enough learning experience in circuit with a private instructor unlike if you are with a school.

Also, school has a systematic learning guidelines and you and the instructor will not miss out on important issues.

Lastly, if you think you are not going to pass with the private instructor, why continue and pay more and regret later. I've got friends who were learning with private instructors and after 4 failed attempts before they register with school. Isnt it a waste of even more money and time then?

when i first take my license in 1998 for class 3,i enrol at bbdc...and spend around 2k plus to get my licence within 8 months only with 2 tries.....then my class 2b 2a 2 and 3 revoke in 2001...i retake my class 3 in 2003 taking pte instructor near bukit gombak and spend around $500 to get my license at one try only..even the bbdc instructor told me that it all depends on individual skill during the test regardless of who your instructor is.....my license revoked in 2001 and in 2003 i retake my class 2b also at one try only. And subsequently i retake my class 2a and 2 at one try only even i have previous record of suspension and revoked..so its not quota or from where you enrol or any bad records...its your skill and driving/riding the way the tester wants see....there are some students from bbdc who have gone thru 4 times for class 3 traffic test...how come?instructor no good??or the student itself??you judge yourself

i pass with a PTE , spent less then 1.2k... This PTE instructor got alot of Trainer under him... the 1st Trainer keen F upside down from me cause he don know how to teach. The main point is u pay to learn, don need to scare them. IF he is sleeping in the car, DON PAY HIM a Cent.

It all boils down to yr choices, if you are someone who prefer systematic training (or that type where everything must tell you than you know one) or slow learner than I guess you will feel stressed on learning thr pte as pte got no lesson plan. The instructor will just teaches you on what you came across during the lesson.

The good point of centre is high pass rate because before you reach the TP test, you are required to pass a lot of accessement by the centre and you are also able to learn at yr comfort. The risk is much lower as compared to pte, but no risk no gain.....

some pte instructor teach systematically too.But before that they will ask you about knowledge of driving then they wil plan what to teach you..every student got different level. So if you are totally new to driving and road and also never had any licence before then you should tell them. And they will teach you from scratch. Some pte instructors are consider very experience due to their age compare to bbdc instructors.

Oops.. maybe i rephase, pte instructor are not as systematic as centre where every lesson there are criteria for a pass. E.g I did a fliter lane, changing lane, u turn(largely under guidance of course) within the first 4 lesson, but for centre i dun think they have even venture out on the road yet. That is the diference

You wanna switch instructor not? My ex instructor not bad very good and wont force u to practice more, he knows how to tackle your weakness and teach u, i only took about 4 months, spent abt 1.2k passed first time with 4 pts demerit.

Most of his students passed within 1st and 2nd, hes driving a lancer sport, at buki gombak, very nice uncle and chatty...pass u his number 90083 3033 Name : AH LAI , his car plate also bidded 3033, just tell him Grace intro u he probably will know.

Think u just need to pay him 50bucks "registration fee" (which almost all pte does that) den every lesson 36. shd be same..

change now before too late.. school or pte instructor.. really depends on individual, personally i prefer more on pte cos more practical routes and thats what we will be handling when we passed and drive, circuit very dead..

he teaches u his practical way and i simply enjoyed his lesson...

Cheers!

I just got my license last Monday.

Took private but switched instructors once (the previous one really sucks).

The new one is quite on the ball and I passed on my first try (10 demerit points).

Total expenditure : $750 incl. TP test

Personally, I took private to save money because I heard that for sch they'll make sure u've taken a certain number of lessons before going for TP. And some of the lessons are quite bo liao, IMHO.

One more point to add, I've been riding a motorcycle for the past 7 yrs already.. so maybe that makes a slight difference.

i took my class3 few weeks back..

spend 550+ (BTT, FTT, PDL, 4Circuits lesson, 7 Road lesson + TP)

First attempt, 14points =) (its dependant on TP itself, if u r lucky enuff to have a gd TP)

my instructor sometimes also fall alseep, try not to book lesson from 12pm to 2pm, cos they jus eat lunch ma and tense to fall alseep.

Agree, there's no quota.

In my opinion, generally driving school has higher passing rate but true that private instructor may be value for money, provided the learner dont failed repeatedly.

I've good memorable experience at BBDC, one of the early batches to enrol, earned my Class 2B, 2A, 2 and 3 all from them.

BBDC is the best, for me i specially pick Malay instructor (i am a chinese). In my view they are better as they will try to stop you from advancing fast if you are fine with your driving. Well that is my opinion.
