Stock front tyre + mscp + rain + apply front brake while turning = CONFIRM SKID.

I learnt it the hard way today, in my office mscp. Luckily my speed was very very low(I guess 5 km/hr) and place I skid was flat and not a slope, so no damage to myself or bike. I am a bit shaken and feel so foolish to have kept the stock tyre, inspite everyone saying its not good. In my mind, I thought if I am sedate rider then I should be able to manage. Now that myth is busted.

Going to change tyres 1st thing after leaving office today.

@revhappy, glad to see you're ok, better there than on a more dangerous environment (road!).

I know how you feel, on the trip I dropped the bike once at a petrol station while dismounting. But decided a little bruising to the ego is good for the soul of a rider hehehe :D

FYI Battlax tyres are selling for $245 a pair at UM: $135 the rear, $110 the front.

Thanks. Yeah, thank god it didnt happen on the white line on the road, as I am always lane-split-happy. Treating this as a wakeup call.

Where is the Air Filter sensor located exactly ?

How do I access it ? What does it look like ?

Since yesterday's AF cleaning, the sensor signal appeared on my dashboard.

Never happened before, yet I am using the same Protec filter and doing the cleaning the same way, so I'm thinking maybe I disturbed the sensor some way this time, and want to have a look.

hmm, had a problem with my pulsar today, suddenly i cant go more than 1/4 throttle, at any speed&gear or even neutral, it will sort of jerk and lose power&rotation.

Could it be the rain causing it?

goin to UM tomorrow if the problem continues, is it crowded ard 5.30-6pm?

Hi,

How is your fuel level?

Check with a flashlight inside your pipe. Check your spark plugs and your air filter. (these are all things easy to reach with no need for complicated tools. If you need guidance let me know, I can post photos). Make sure the spark plugs and air filter are not wet, and still good to go.

Does the bike actually stall ? Or just no power?

When you say you can't twist your throttle more than 1/4, do you mean there is a resistance at the throttle itself or that if you open it too much, the bike jerks and looses power? If it doesnt come from the throttle or throttle cable than there is a good chance it's one of the above.

Another thing to check is the battery but if you have headlight and normal

Lighting on the bike you should be good on that front.

UM shouldn't be too crowded but you never know, sometimes people just seem to all end up there at the same time so just try to be there at least 45min before closing.

Good day pulsarians, I have a thing or 2 to clarify because I have the lust to change to a pulsar, I just wanna know, what's the differences between the 180cc and the 200cc? Which model has the best fuel consumption? :/ know nuts about pulsar... And does year of model plays a part too? How about fitting aftermarket handlebars like, Renthal or Pro Taper possible on the pulsars? Thanks a mil!

Hi and welcome,

For info on the different Pulsar models and years of making, please check the 1st page of this thread.

FC is similar on both latest models. It's possible to install an aftermarket handlebar, yes. You'll just have to make sure the riding position fits you, as you would on any other bike.

Any takers to answer this please ? I did a research online and found out that the wire that controls the air filter sensor should be somewhere beneath the seat - not sure which one nor where exactly.

But that's it. I guess I'll have to take out the airbox and check it out myself.. Hope it can be done without touching the main frame's axle..

Thanks for your clarification, now i have a better idea :) and anyway.. a stupid question now. How much top spend can a 200cc pulsar reach? considering my own weight at 70+ kg :/
