Its over work when inside the water. I agree with you too much oil is also not good. But I feel as long as its not above the top mark it should be ok. Even if it is a bit excess it will come out of the blow by gas tube. But right now it is at the bottom mark, which is sign that it is dangerously low. I would hate the engine to get screwed up due to less oil. That is the last thing I would want to happen to the bike.

I use http://www.minus.com

Create an account it takes a second then upload your pics there. It's fast and easy. All you have to do then is copy the "forum code" they give for your image and paste it here.

 

Much more stable and reliable than attachment, tons of space, images are not deleted over time, and you can organise them into folder. More importantly the upload process is a breeze.

Oh 1.2L goes above the high mark in P200? Maybe the glass window caliberation for P200 and P180 UG3 is same and hence 1 Ltr in P180 only reaches the lower mark

dats why now most advance EO in the market has additives in it but again additives has different types and roles ...

Hey guys, If there is a surface car park right below your block but MSCP like 5 mins walk across the road, where will you choose to park? The new place I am moving to Tampines st 43, I will be in that situation

My block is 437, I have choice between T76 and TAM2

I think I will choose the mscp even though it is extra effort, but atleast I know my bike wont be sogging in the rain and water potentially entering tank or causing other damage

 

Why dont they just group these 2 car parks as one. So if we are in hurry we can park below house but normally in the MSCP. Wishful thinking!

My starter motor makes a harsh noise while cranking, but it starts ok. Then after riding and coming to halt and switching off engine again the starter motor makes a cranking noise.

 

At UM, last time they said starter motor problem, need to replace. 100+$

 

I read in XBHP forum and there they have mentioned that there is a bush between starter motor and the engine and that needs regular replacement. I believe or rather hope that is the case for my bike too. Any thoughts on this?

In the below 2 photos, it's two pieces: the round thing with the springs and little metallic thingies packed in the middle (the big black round thing not the ball bearing one), [s}and the yellow and grey gear thingy. [/s]

(I know, my description is amazingly scientific and precise - if confused I can add some red arrows !).

I only have these photos of all the pieces I changed together, so ignore the other things, you only want to look at the ones I described:

Had a look at my UM bill. Now I'm thinking the yellow and grey thing is not the starter clutch kit. I think it's the balancer idler gear.

And the starter clutch kit, must be all the little cylinders and springs and whatnot that are inside the starter clutch body.

The round thing with all the little springs is called the body starter clutch, and the little rod with the yellow and grey gear on it the little metallic cylinders packed in the middle, are the starter clutch kit.

Now there is no mention of "bush" so maybe the bush is only a piece of one these ?

When I try to google for images, I either get one or the other, I'll continue digging, there must be some super explicit schematics somewhere, motor geeks usually don't disappoint

A dumb question: Why is the word clutch used here? Is it anything to do with the clutch plates? Or is it to do with the self start motor? Or is it the starter motor itself?

Clutch means something to engage and disengage. So with the starter, I guess when you press the button, it engages?? And release disengages?? This is getting too confusing. Lol.... Time for bed. Starting to talk nonsense.

My theory is this stuff goes somewhere before/after the clutch plates. But I also like the whole engage/disengage theory, sounds much more credible.

Why is that tied to the action of starting the bike ? Beats me.

We need a mech in here or someone who knows what the hell he is talking about lol..

Although I must say I love guessing and googling what stuff does in an motorcycle (mostly guessing then go ask NGAT and realise I was completely off).

I have this weird "cracking-bang" sound when i start my bike sometimes. Anyone experienced this before. Occurs sometimes only. Not all e time. Please dun say i push start ahhhh. Lol
