$70 is cheap too ...but with a DID o ring dun think cost so cheap liao ...at least $100 plus ...can last longer....

with 41 teeth spocket is good enough !!!

if u need recomendation to do in sg i can recomand 1 !!!

actually i am a mix blood thai, and i have aready ask my releative to help me get them in thailand aready..

but still got 2mths then i going back

so i jus need to get one to tong thru the 2mths

since it is only for 2 mths then no point spending so much ...

I dun go LAB for repair or fixing of the things ...normally i ask someone to fix !

in fact wear and tear is one thing ...but the safety of oneself is impotant too..

some cheap spocket will wear out fast ..2 to 3 yrs then change one set of spocket !!

some spocket will give way at high speed !!! u can always try ...

Heavier, will need more power to move. More power, needs more petrol.

hMmM can we say tat we need higher revs to move a heavier load to attain a certain spd compared to lesser load so tat more petrol consumed when at higher revs?

Heavier weight, the initial to move off is greater thus more power require. On the otherhand, the initial force to stop vs kinetic force is stronger, thus more or less is balance out. As for up slope and down slope, it's kinda of the same unless wind resistance act into place. Assuming both have equal amount of wind resistance, the accerelation will be the same.

u will know when u pillion someone.. esp whent he person is heavier than u.. You'll need to rev more before u change to next gear.. mileage per litre also affected...

Anyway.. don't have to worry so much if u';r not going to pillion someone everyday...

Just came back home with a heart-beating non-stop.. I was riding along PIE to Bedok when my bike suddenly break down..

Incidents: I heard sound from the bottom and I just suddenly lost control of the trottle. I quickly signal left and horn a few time(forgotton how many time I horned.. liao), and turn my bike to the road shoulder. Later found out the chain broke in half. Call the SOS, free tolling to the nearest carpark. Tomorrow will have to call the motorshop for tolling and servicing.

The conclusion is, it is really scaring. Wondering what if the chain jam on the wheel and I skip... woow landed in Hospt. now. And I was riding ard 100+.

Anyone know what the normal price for this fault/change?

toll to bike shop is ard $30,the rest must c hw they charge u.

Tow to your regular workshop shld be around $20-30. Change a set of gd chain and spocket about $120. Total about $150..

It do happen when the condition of chain is really very very bad or using very cheapskate chain..

As they have said, towing to bikeshop would cost you abt $20-$30. And for the price of the chains and spockets, it varies on they type/brand u use..

 

After changing ur chain and spocket,

 

-lube the chain regularly to maintain the lifespan of the chain.

-As and when check for chain slack

--Too tight, the chain will snapped

--Too loose, the chain will go off track

 

 

when the chain snapped, it may fling and hit ur leg.. imagine a piece of metal coming ur way at 100km/hr!
