hi guys... how do u all do a proper warm up engine, i find that i always disturb the pple stayin at my block very noisy, went for a ride with my fren..

 

couple of times, rpm not enough.. than..

 

i do a super wheelie at the traffic light wif a pillion i can see my wheels at my eyes level ...everybody was stunned me too... lucky nothing happen,

Proper engine warm-up ... You just start your engine, and let it idle for a few minutes lor. Dun touch the throttle. Just let run by itself. Of course, you can apply choke. But once you feel the engine won't die out, you should off your choke and let it run for a few more minutes. Switch off your headlights too. It helps.

 

If you dun do that, you will find that your throttle response very sluggish. And when you move off, it's like engine will die off. Dunno if it's only mine or wat, but KRR seems to have this problem.

 

Btw, I have never done a wheelie before, how did you do that ? a hhaha

ya, but like must wait quite long, den i off choke, let tua the throttle till 3-4 rpm for few secs, den move off, but smtimes like when going to stop, den try to move off again, very sluggish, the speedo light wanna go off...den i use rpm 2-3-4 is better i guess

really damn scary man, the road so many cars during evening, i suddenly wheelie, luckily my pillon hold onto me n the real guard, no car go past me, than when i okie liao, all the bikes go pass me look at me, than got 1 ah pek duno shout wat.. to wheelie, throw ur rpm to 7-8 den throw abit clutch.. confirm wheelie.. i dun dare man.. tt one is because, very very sluggish, den i on the throttle, suddenly shoot to rpm 8 !!

Magic,

I have advised some of the people here on better starting before. It's in the first dunno how many pages of this thread. If you search for my posts under this topic, you should be able to find. But for your benefit,

 

Before you start your enigne, switch off your lighting systems all the way. Turn on your choke, twist your throttle all the way and release. Then wait for about 5 seconds, start your engine.

 

Once engine started, take note of your RPM (tachometer). You should see the tach rise rapidly to about 3K. If you do notice a rise beyond 2K, you can shut off the choke. Once you turn off the choke, monitor the tacho again. Does the RPM fall below 1.5K or the engine sounds like it's going to die again ? If it does, switch on your choke again for a few seconds before shutting it off. Once you shut off, do the monitoring again, until you dun have to use the choke.

 

You are not done yet. TYou still need to let the engine warm up. The above is the prelude. While you wait for the engine to warm, up, it's a good time to check your bike. Look around (did somebody plant a bomb on your vehicle ?), press your tyres, adjust your mirror, inspect the chain (is it very dry), test your signals and horn, put on your windbreaker or whatever. When you are done, the engine should be sufficiently warmed up. At this point, note your idle engine RPM. Is it around 1.5 ~ 1.25K ? If yours is less, your idle speed may be too low and you might need to increase the RPM. Next, take a look at your temperature gauge. Note the temperature level. When your engine is fully warmed up, that should be temperature range. This is for your reference the next time you start your engine.

 

If your ilde RPM is what I have mentioned, you should be ready to go. Switch on your headlights at this point. Dun leave it on when you are doing the starting procedures. The headlights sap a considerable amount of power your generator can produce. You'd be better off saving the juices for the spark plugs instead of your headlights when starting.

 

There are other points to note too when you have low idle RPM. But assuming there's nothing else wrong with your bike, it should only be your idling RPM setting. You go try and see if these will solve your problem.

don rev yr bike when u jus started it from cold. it hurts the piston.

jus rev a little, let it idle 2-3mins will do.

let ur bike warm up awhile before move off

then when u stop.. if engine dying juz open trottle abit...

if scared do stunt again... slowly let go of clutch...

its because u let go of clutch so fast u do stunt
