omg.. i duno wat to say.. but i can say dis.. it looks strange.. in a not so beautiful sort of way.. but the engineering and technical aspect of the new r1 is interesting though..

 

forks with one leg handling compression and the other rebound.. the ram air ducts beside the headlights..

"Pulled straight from the MotoGP machine, and for the first time in a production motorcycle, Yamaha has fitted the R1 with a crossplane crankshaft. This design is not the "big bang" most had thought it was. This design puts each crank journal 90 degrees apart and on two different planes, verses the standard design that puts them on one plane. This makes for an uneven firing order that is said to make for a much more linear connection between the throttle and driving force. It also is said to improve torque while sill maintaining high rpm power."

Hmmm... strange concept. But have increase in torque but then will there be a drop in the power curve earlier?? We shall see bah. Anyway I'm still going for the '09 CBR1000RR. hehehe.. Eh Wayang.... go touring leh.

why the bikes getting shorter?

i mean look at the back side, it looks like r6 and cbr1000 now..

it looks like honda and yamaha are going for the minimalist style..

at least the R1 looks much better as compared to the new CBR1K. it looks like the size of an RS125 with a litre engine. horrendous man.

the new front design and headlights reminds me of an insect.

 

maybe for a new kamen rider series, this can be the bike he rides
