No more 2 stroke bike in production?

Can i ask you guys something. I heard from S.H Auto Suply that from year 2009 onwards, there will be no 2 stroke bike in production from year 2009 onwards.

 

Is it true?

Yeah i think i heard about this on Discovery channel or something some time back. Their going to phase out 2 stroke bikes, future is 4 stroke low smoke emission and lesser kind of fuel consumption, no more 2T.

 

Better treasure and keep your 2 strokes well guys coz soon those are gonna be ANTIQUES hehehe sad to say my 2 stroke kena scrap already

Though I'm riding a 2-stroke myself, I greatly support this rule! No more of those smoke screen caused especially by the malaysia-plated bikes. No more of noise pollution, and no more of black spots caused by 2t!

no more in production only.. not getting rid of 2-stroke altogether.. no more new models of 2-stroke production coming out after 2009..

I have read an article b4 n it states that manufactures are advised to phase out 2-stroke production as soon as possible, this is due to the new an upcoming emmision rules, which basically gonna make all 2-strokes engines to become illegal.

Well when that new rule comes, which pretty much is very soon, its gonna effect everywhere.

even motogp is phasing out the 2stroke 125cc and 250cc class slowly, i wonder what they will be replacing it with? 600cc 4 stroke?

this news have been going around for quite some time.. But the word 'SOON' always takes YEARS to apply this rule.. Some ppl might say 2-stroke noisy but have u ever heard to those 4-stroke cubkias using those GPR pipe and others.. It's more worst... Sound like washing machine gonna explode. Stopping 2 stroke production is easy but clearing out all 2-stroke in the world is a very very big task..

yes but those cub kia are using ILLEGAL exhaust cans. they should be impounded and sent for scrap metal recycling. those who use street legal cans are not as loud until they remove the silencers. imho, i don't mind noisy bikes as long as the dumbassed riders do not rev them at my carpark or when everyone is trying to sleep.

 

sad to say, most idiots who fix illegal or tong pipes like to have their brains numbed by ear piercing loud exhaust notes and these morons just ruin it for us bikers, gives everyone a bad impression of us and makes the ROV/ TP conduct stringent checks on modded bikes.
