After reading all your posts, i also must post my experience from this shop.

Experience 1

My headlight blow while i was working and yuh loong was the only shop that was nearby to my place that was opened on a weekend. A smiple blub change cost me $15. Reason being, the fantastic owner told me his headlight is from Japan, Original one, not alibaba. Straight away i told him, i am giving you only 5 bucks max for that bulb take it or leave it. He than told me 5 bucks cannot 8 bucks is the minimum cause weekend got weekend surcharge price. Besides that, he keep ramming my engine, look at my rear disc brake modifciations and keep shooting everything he can and ask me to overhual and change all back to stock say later the brake jam than i will fly and die. Nice thing to say when i refuse to pay his $15 orginal headlight bulb from japan. Was ****ing pissed at first but laughed at how the boss is so smart in making **** and bull stories. (BTW, it happen on my spark)

Experience 2

Was looking around for a super 4 and decided to humor myself by visiting his shop. He looked at me and ask me what am i looking for. Told him i was scouting for Super 4. Asked a few qns from me and he introduced me a FP plate Ver.S and told me it cost 5k. It is way above the average price. So i asked him whether it includes COE renewal and the answer was NO. Add me 1k plus for COE. In my mind i was laughing like mad. FP plate all renew COE to 2016 and still dare to come chop me. He think i look like carrot who is willing to pay 6K+ for a stock and dirty looking Ver.S?

Seriously, this shop is total bullshit. But i would recommend you guys to visit them if you would like to humour yourself like what i did in my 2nd experience. It will defintely leave you with a good day laugh.

NOW, HE'S TOLD TO PAY $15,000

JUST when he thought he had cleared his debt to society, he finds himself facing bankruptcy.

During the four years he was in prison for extortion, the 27-year-old, who gave his name only as Mr Mohamed, did not pay the instalments for his motorcycle.

His parents had sent the bike back to the shop he bought it from, and thought that was the end of the matter.

When he was released last year, he found, instead of his bike, a demand from the shop for almost $15,000, including interest and storage fees.

The original price of the bike was $10,600, and he had already paid $4,000.

AT WIT'S END

Said Mr Mohamed, a sales executive: 'I don't know what to do now. I am at my wit's end. I thought I could start my life anew, and now I get this notice.

When he bought the Italian sports bike, an Aprilia RS 125, on hire purchase in 2001, he had put down a deposit of nearly $2,000 and had paid the monthly instalments till he was jailed in September 2002.

His parents then asked the shop to take back the bike.

Mr Mohamed's father, who gave his name only as Mr Abdul, said they handed the keys to the people who came to pick up the bike.

Said Mr Abdul, 56, a security officer: 'We didn't want to pay for a bike that would be parked in the carpark and risk someone stealing it.'

He added that they would not have been able to continue paying the monthly instalments.

The family was still distraught with their son's imprisonment, and claim the shop gave them no documentation.

Said Mr Abdul: 'We thought that once the company had taken back the bike, the problem was solved and we wouldn't have to continue with the payment.'

But the shop's position was that Mr Mohamed had committed a breach of the hire purchase contract.

In August 2003, a registered letter arrived for Mr Mohamed from the shop’s lawyers, demanding about $15,000.

This included a storage fee of $5,320 for 266 days, from 8 Nov 2002.

Said Mr Abdul: 'I was shocked. We weren't aware we still had to pay for the bike, and the shop never said anything about storage fees.'

The family of four had been financially unstable. Mr Mohamed's younger sister was studying then, and Mr Abdul was the sole breadwinner, earning $1,400 a month.

Mr Abdul asked his son-in-law to contact the shop's lawyer, but the matter remained unresolved.

'In hindsight, I regret just letting the matter be, and I thought the problem would go away,' he said.

Last month the lawyer informed Mr Mohamed that he could face bankruptcy action.

Mr Mohamed, who continued his studies in prison and took a diploma in business management, had just found a new job.He said: 'I worked very hard to get myself out of the pit, and to turn over a new leaf. Now that I have just started on a new job, I am facing the possibility of bankruptcy. When will my problems end?'

He regrets his first mistake of turning to crime.'I had wanted to make a quick buck to ease my family's financial problems and ended up creating more problems,' he said sadly.

SHOP'S DUTY TO INFORM

When contacted, Case executive director Seah Seng Choon said it is the duty of the shop to inform the consumer of its charges if the bike is returned before full payment.

The shop said it did so.

Mr Seah noted that since there was no instruction to keep the bike, the shop should have sold it as soon as possible. 'It is not right for the shop to keep the bike... for such a long time and to claim... warehouse charges.

'The shop is under a duty to sell the bike as soon as possible and use the sale price to reduce the amount it can claim from the consumer,' he said.

Does this paper telling us that yuh long did this kind of action?

Luckily i did not kena con too much during my newbie time year 2004 where i bought spark Z 110 at yuh long. Indeed steven talk alot and ask me to change here and there i just smiled at him that there's no need to unnecessary changes coz im not into racing type just to use it as a transportation thru and forth to work.

But got 1 time he ask me to change exhaust but i reject his offer and on dat day nite itself after i come back from jb i parked at 3rd level multistorey carpark, the next evening when i wanted to go to work i found out that my exhaust has been stolen.

Being a newbie dat time blur like sotong i went back to steven and asked him to buy a new exhaust for my spark Z around 2 hundred plus i can't recall the exact price.

After some times i've been thinking dat was it coincidence dat my exhaust was stolen after i had rejected his exhaust offer. This is just my perception as there was no proof yuhlong did it or not. Maybe just pure coincidence....

Anyway it's true their service charge was very high but since i boh tahan with their attitude (got one part this malay mechanic i told him to change just spark plug and engine oil i thought he did not hear me so i repeat it to dat malay mechanic - slim type bodybuilt - end up he likes give a respond " i know la i know la" in a rude tone) that my installment left about 1 and half year , i immediately had enough savings and went to the shop for full settlement.

Got one time i wanted to just past there for fun and saw steven standing outside and he saw me and i stare him back. He looked at me as though i'm owning him something but i just stare, smile and rode past him.

As my friend told me that the shop is like a gangster shop but so far i dun knw they treat me ok ok la just the boss talk very loud. Got one time my spark Z headlight blow and i went there sunday evening (i dunno why i kept going to his shop maybe dat time i m a newbie still gong gong) and he was alone closing the shop. The bulb cost 5 bucks but i only have 4 bucks with me. He just said take it la maybe he was in a hurry to close his shop. I dunno la so far daz the only friendly treatment he gave to me plus when i wanted to buy spark Z from them. After dat so so treatment.

The rest was history. I never went back there since... after i had paid full settlement for the bike......

Well, my colleague bought a Phantom from them years ago. About six months later, his bike was stolen within a space of 1 hour while he was home. A year later, some of his bike's parts were found in Thailand! Investigations showed that it was an inside job; YL's employee/people had a duplicate key and since my colleague bought the bike from them, they had his address from the paperwork. Easy...

Sorry bro, but this story sounds dubious.

Phantom is made in Thailand. So, you can figure out the abundance of Phantom parts there. So, how would you know which parts belong to your friend? (That is unless it is the engine or chassis)

And investigations done by whom? I doubt insurers will go as far as Thailand to find a $4000 OMV bike.

Not siding with the bike shop cos from what I've read, the bike shop is a scalper and one I'd definitely avoid. But your friend's story is rather far fetched.
