Does anyone has a XJR400 saddle to let go?

saddle? as in saddle bag?

Would like to know if side boxes can be fitted onto the XJR 400. Givi or H&B also can.

Thanks.

should be able to, depending on which design/models..

as for eg. givi, wingrack is universal just need the correct mount..

for h&b also need to get proper mount in order to fix their box base plates

Hi,

I like the looks of the XJR 400, but am concerned about the availability of parts and reliability, since its a rare bike, compared to Honda S4

Any current owners can advice on whether its easy to find parts and workshop to carry out servicing and repairs?

Thanks.

The bike is in mint condition. Proud to say it might be one of the best maintained xjr400 in singapore.

i have my bike serviced at Planet motor by Ah Chong. Workmanship is good and spare parts are easily available as local yamaha agents still keep stock of parts. So far i haven't encountered any problem in sourcing for spare parts.

XJR400 uses a simple straightforward inline four engine with no complex structure/mechanism. Repair cost is pretty cheap also.

Thanks, F/X. original cover is very well made, that is why i want to keep it. Adding more foam will make it more suitable for long ride and make the riding posture less aggressive. any good shop to recommend?

I bought mine 2nd hand and dat time I thought the yss would suffice,I guess not..

you sure you know how to adjust? Maybe you should ask the bike shop(unique) to look into it?

Personerly. I think YSS should do the JOB, XJR ohlin is not the top notch...

Hey guys need help. Whenever I start my bike cold, the moment I put the shifter to 1st gear the bike jerks and stalls. Start up the bike again and the problem's gone. Had the clutch cable replaced and my clutch plates are still ok. Can anyone tell me what's wrong? Oh ride the 400 btw and mine's the 05 model. Thanks in advance.

it sounds like your clutch is not fully disengaged when you switch to 1st gear. Maybe you can check if your clutch cable is properly secured and tightened with free play set at 2.0~2.5cm since you have just replaced you cable. your first clutch-in movement probably does not eat up all the slack in the cable.

You can warm up the engine for a while and then switch to 1st gear. Observe if the tacho meter RPM drops when this problem occurs. Decline of idle speed means your clutch is in engagement.

How to do you plan to restore the bike? i saw one scraped carb model Fazer1 that has the same caliper at Planet motor. Maybe you can try searching for substitution parts.

I am going to engrave some secret code onto the shocks and calipers for recognition purpose. In case the parts got stolen, whoever find the buyer selling stolen goods please give him a good thorough beating.

Hi guys, this will be first time I'll be posting in this site, I recently got a second hand Yamaha XJR400 it's says on the registration that it's a 1990 model, AFAIK XJR's were released around '93 so the registration isn't accurate ^_^.

I'm from the Philippines and I find the bike really good, better than the Honda Super Four PB1, it's kinda noisy though but from what I heard it's normal since it's oil cooled unlike the PB1, I love how it look big and how it looks old school.

Here in the Philippines there really isn't a group/club dedicated to XJR's they rather go for the Honda Super four since it's "easier for them to maintain" plus parts are all around (so they say) here, owners usually look for ways to maintain bikes looking for cheaper alternatives as long as it works and as long as it has quality, like the oil filter for example, are you guys aware that we can use oil filters compatible with Honda Civics or Honda Accords? Hope you guys can lend me a hand whenever I have issues with my ride. TIA. more power.

btw here's my bike maybe you can tell me what it really is :)
