i heard from a mech that don't have to always wash carb. wash and tune it properly can ride it for a long time.

this one i not sure.

check with your mech is it the overflow pin old already. if yes, time to change it.

I'm also having this minor problem on my spec II, it can get irritating especially during heavy traffic. Theres this 1 sec of "turbo-lag" (Lol) before the bike gains power. Can be embarassing especially when all the other smaller-cc bikes zoom off and you are struggling to move off at a normal pace.

But i've already washed my carb (3 months back), plus there these 4 small metal pins (assuming its the overflow pins) that the mech asked me to change; so i don't know if that helps.

So have you changed the metal pins already? And what's the outcome?

erm, i not sure about you guys bike. but for mine, the response is damn slow when i moving off from traffic light. i close and open throttle then okie already. but i went to my mech, he say is my overflow pin in carb spoil. so i wash my carb and change the pin. after that everything is fine.

you all can try throttle once before move off, see whether it helps. if not might be the air/fuel pin didn't set correctly.

if i'm wrong, don't bomb me. just helping around. :D

cheers!

bro which shop and how much u spend changing the pins? thx.

im riding spec 2, have this issue too! i feel my bike acceleration slower than cars. lol. but if i throttle more and faster, and at the same time releasing the clutch faster, this problem will not be there.

i always thought it is because my throttle/clutch/biting point control not good enough, causing the lag. but seems like its due to a overflow pin? (Dunno whats that )

when i washed my carb back then i also had the pins changed because according to my mech the previous owner never touched it before. the problem still occurs. Its not that bad lah... but can make you feel paiseh at times.

The only way to counter this effect like one of the bros here mentioned - open throttle FIRST and then release clutch. Then you can have a smoother start.

The other way is to launch your bike (but that will just wear out your clutch).

Other than that i don't have any other problems with my spec II. Best bike i've owned so far... and its only my second bike. Hahhaha. I probably have to "overwrite" this statement once i get my class 2 though.

Cheers

hi, can i check wif u guys, whether when installing a voltmeter, do we tap the wires to the headlight connections or? Because i crossed with my digital multimeter and there is a great difference in readings.. When i on my ignition, my "mr" gauge voltmeter shows 11.6v whereas my multimeter shows a 12.4-.6v. and when throttled, my voltmeter shows around 13.2 where my multimeter shows 13.8-14.1.. The other problem is that when i revved, my voltmeter shows 13.2 and when clutch in when moving, it shows 13.6? what can be deduced from here? a faulty voltmeter or tapped from wrong wires?

most probably water will sip into the tank & since u can't wipe it dry, there'll be water stains left on the tank...

don't know if you guys experienced this problem before but recently my bike feels like it has a loss of power, especially during pick up and also my engine heats up real quick. For example, a simple ride from yishun to hougang at 3am in the morning, when i reach hougang, engine is hot and fan turns on. my engine will never be hot in such short rides especially at night in the past.

could it be because my air filter and carb needs to be washed and re-tuned? cause its been a while since i last did it, about 6000km ago? because air filter dirty, not enough air is present for combustion, thus leading engine to work even harder and thus the heating problem? i just changed all my coolant hoses and water pump about 6 months ago, coolant was also flushed around a month ago. so i doubt its leaking.

hope you bros can help me with this. dont want to bring to shop anyhow kena chop. oh ya im riding a ver s. thanks a lot! :)

Guys, my bike had been installed the Dyno Jet kit from the previous owner... so after changing the main jet pin & the other 4 pins (dun noe wat's the name of it) during servicing, does it mean there's no more Dyno Jetting on my bike?

Your original meter spoilt? Sometimes depends on the fault can be repaired... "chiong" meters are known to be inaccurate at times. Perhaps you can mention what's the problem with the original meter.

My bike is stock! Please don't jio me!

that's y i dun noe wanna change chiong wan a not. my speedometer not accurate with the speed. the fuel bar and the time display also got gone. think if wanna change or repair must change the pcb board. a brand new meter cost $600+ , whereas the pcb board cost $400+ . quite ex thou. haiz.
