titianium turns blue when exposed to high heat, i have seen it on bikes with older titianium headers, they look nice at first but after a few months, the blue start to fade and won't look so nice liao so i take a photo first hahaha

mine isn't fire spec, it's plain jane titanium

@ kurarensu: try reading the last few pages up to 50+ for more information. i read from page 1 onwards and had to sift through a lot of chitchat for information.

cool~ thanks for correcting me

but how do we make the blue color uniform? i mean some parts are deeper but some parts are like faded like that.. i heard that after the mech fix our bike or some work done, best to wipe down the whole pipe with wd40 and a soft cloth because oily fingerprints on the header will cause patches of blue when the pipe is hot, not reversible.

or that's what i read.

It is not possible to make the colour uniform. The blue areas are actually the hottest points on the pipe...especially at the weld or joint areas where heat retention by the thicker material is more pronounced.
