Hi,

I have noticed that my bike logo was lifting on one side, so i decided (hand itchy) to remove it. however that left a sticky and hardened goo.

being the noob i am, i tried removing that goo with fingernail. it worked on the sticky parts but not on the hardened goo. worst off, i think my fingernail managed to scratch my paintwork quite a bit.. guess i have overly strong nails due to too much calcium..

anyhow, i went online to search for a solution, tried wd40 and it was great to remove the rest of the sticky parts. however, the hardened bits are still stubbornly unremovable and i hope someone out there has the solution to remove the hardened bits! :faint:

pls help!

Guys, its Zippo lighter fluid...not Zippo oil (",)

Anyway, if it doesn't come off, leave it alone for a while and try another day.

After all your efforts, our weather can weaken its hold and make it drop off by itself.

Axe brand oil or GT85.

Though GT85 requires repeated rubbings with a soft cloth.

Axe brand oil or even alcohol swabs will work as well.

But be careful with alcohol. Not sure if it affects paintworks.

i think i get what u mean by the hardened residue from stickers.

took off the aftermarket rounded blind spot mirrors off my side mirrors before. somehow the double sided tape left behind the hardened residue that cannot be removed no matter how hard i tried and how much turpentine i added. just got to live w/ them i guess.

Try using a heat gun, it will soften the glue residue and make it easier to peel off.

If you don't have a heat gun, use your girl friend's hair dryer instead :thirsty:

WD40 or lighter fluid will do the job. Easily found in hardware or DIY shops.

Anyone can ride a bike. Being a biker, is a state of mind.

Bro. Use WD-40. Let it sit there for a few mins and simply wipe away! :)

use olive oil. let it soak in for a few minutes before gently rubbing off with a cotton rag. never use tissue paper, or u end up with a white fluff !
