Hi currently riding a s4 spec 1. Keen in changing to SW for quite some time already but always scared will regret. Any recommendations? eg. which model available etc. will be getting a 2nd hand one.

This one a bit difficult to decide for you but you can consider these and look at a few bikes in the market:

1. Love at first sight. You must first like the look.

2. For speed or for storage. Speed = Tmax, Storage = all other scoots with big under-seat space (Max Sym, SW, Burgman, Majesty, etc).

3. Bothered by Weight? SW is the heaviest amongst the 400cc. The rest are generally about 40kg lessor.

4. Want Travel Long Distance? SW, Tmax and Burgy650 are twin cylinder for smoother, longer rides. The rest are singles.

5. What's the budget? SW, Tmax and Burgy650 cost a premium above the rest even at 2nd hand.

If decided on SW then I recommend the SW-T, which is usually from 2010 (horizontal side by side headlight). The older FJS model is no longer in production except for USA market.

SW-T has slightly better suspension setting, more comfy seat cushion/cover and a change in transmission ratio resulting in lighter rollers and throttling.

If Regret? Some maybe disappointed at the speed/power (and heavier weight) but never the comfort. 2nd hand can always sell again and you won't lose that much $$.

My SW-T is 131k km already (3.75 years) and travels to Thailand at least twice a year. *Been to North Thailand 2X and end next year going again.

Standard SG road = 25km/l fuel consumption. * Others are getting around 23-24km/l... possibly becos they've got stronger wrist.

Go look look see see touch touch. Many times, the favorite may not be the SW.

2017

11 - 25 Nov - 15D, Taiwan - Fly and Scoot

2018

7 - 15 Apr - 9D, Phuket and Hatyai Songkran

17 Nov to 2 Dec - 16D, North East Thailand (Issan)

2019

30 Mar to 7 Apr - 9D Korea/Jeju Fly and Ride

8 - 24 Nov - 16D, Mae Hong Son

no leh no leh ... i still prefer my FJS over the SWT ... whahaha

despite the alleged poorer suspension, i still prefer the FJS due to:

* "haya" looking vertical headlight arrangement (prefer it over the "one eye jack")

* much bigger glove compartments

diff in suspension probably not much for me cos i'm bantamweight compared to some heavyweight SWingers out there :p

whether SW (FJS or SWT) is a good buy depends a lot on personal preference ...

me? i'm certainly still enjoying my FJS

too bad new ones only got SWT

I got 2.605 at Bukit Indah last week. This week will be higher. That was what the money changer lady told me.

That's rare wor. Normally lousier rate leh

Normally in JB or Bukit Indah they display 2.51. You need to ask them personally for the current rate. Bukit Indah is at the inner circle road facing the centre Bkt Indah garden. Earlier at Toa Payoh I change at 2.61 but super long queue. 30 person in front of me.

hi bobbyyankee

SWT and 400X are 2 different types of ride... trying to comparing a scooter and "all terrain vehicle" is like comparing apple and orange.

some things you can enjoy from the scooter you won't get it on the ATV, vice versa. some things to consider...

comfort?

power?

speed?

agility?

utility (storage)?

FC?

maintenance?

looks?

budget?

basically... what you want from the ride and personal preference loh

Hello fellow gurus of Silverwing, sorry to barge on in like this but am wondering what are the models of aftermarket exhaust available for a 2004 Silverwing?

Also by any chance, anyone knows any shops that have 2nd hand Silverwing 400's in stock?

Honda engine hard to say which one better... 400x is new..

Swinger engine around for a decade already.

FYI, CB400x is not ATV, its not even enduro. It is streetbike with enduro feel with lotsa room for aftermarket accessory add-ons.

You must know what you want or preference in the 1st place.

do you have any back problem?

If yes.. CB400x might better cos enduro setup forces you to sit more upright and arc your backbone.

sitting posture

auto or manual

confirm there are few key consideration besides jus engine and FC that you are looking at...

Or u were on street and wanna try scoot.. or vice versa.

From the phrasing of your question, it actually sounded like 不甘愿cos you wanted SWT but gotten 400x instead.. so... i guess you already know ur answer...

if your pocket is deep enough get both

if your pocket is just nice....hold on that thought for 1 month.... and see... if the prompting in the heart is not that strong anymore...

Then you DO NOT NEED TO CHANGE

if it gets stronger.... CHANGE IT THEN.... life to short to have regrets

I rode Swinger for 1 yr.. before switching to vstorm650 for 6+ yrs.. cos I had compressed disc problem ...

Swinger is nice scoot to ride no doubt but due to health reasons.. I bite the bullet and changed.

This was mystory...
