I do know the reason of the leak... but I'd thought to be sensitive and chose to leave out the unnecessary details...hope no offence is taken. Just thought that u might not have noticed the leak at the time :)

Anyways, I hope all is well and have deleted the post.

Cheers bro!

Yeah Man! if they are really releasing a new model in 2010, we should see the leak photos by now! I remember seeing the 1098 leak photos way back in early 2007.... this was how it looks like back then, even the fairings aren't complete yet!

Hi ducati riders, if the price was the same for a 1098S with a full termis system VS a 1198 with termis slipons.

which will u pick?

and why?

i will pick 1198 ... It's another 100cc more. U could upgrade any time to a full system the next time if u want to .

reasons why:

1)The 1198 uses engineering solutions taken directly from the World Championship winning 'R' model of Troy Bayliss.

2) The 1198 achieves its new capacity by using exactly the same 106x67.9 bore and stroke as the factory race bike.

3) Double overhead camshafts with radical profiles that achieve approximately 10% more lift than their predecessors.

4)Volumetric efficiency through the four valves per cylinder has been enhanced by increasing the valve diameters approximately 4% to 43.5mm for the inlet and 35.5mm for the exhaust.

5)The elliptical throttle bodies have also increased in cross-sectional area by 13.3% compared to the 1098. Now boasting a size equivalent to 63.9mm diameter, the inlet body is exactly the same as the 'R' model.

6)The 1198 gearbox introduces 'R' model internal ratios. The new gears are machined from the same high-strength steel used in Ducati Corse race applications

But thats just me... However, some would prefer the goodies on the 1098S, Full Ohlins Forks/Shocks/Damper... All these are upgradable in the future when ur pocket hole are "deeper"... Lolx

Thanks for the detailed reply.

with so many similarities with the 1098R, for the price difference, the 1198 seems to be better bang for buck?

Sighz :cry::cry:

wish i could afford to ride a ducati bike like u guys, its always been a dream of mine.......... sighzzzzzzzz :cry:

With the introduction of the 1098 and the new 1198, all other previous models are now quite affortable as compared to last time... They older models are now in the same price range as the new Japs , or in fact slightly cheaper.
