Thanks singkiwi. Am towing the bike to workshop for the time being since its cannot be ridden. Can contact me at 93200430 if you happen to find one or else I got to place an order with workshop.

Sols - Parked it at my MSCP. Two days ago, wanted to ride it to work. Pushed the bike out of lot and pulled the brake lever. To my surprise, brake lever went all the way in without any pressure at all. Checked the front, realised that the caliper was missing with all the brake fluid all over the front wheel. Freakin' ahole.... Cant imagine what wld happen if I did not push the bike out of the lot and just ride it as usual. Think I wld have crashed in the MSCP.

Does insurance cover calipers? I always thought its the theft of the whole bike then it would be covered.

It doesn't matter what the question is, the answer is more power!

Checked Ebay earlier but am not sure which is suitable. However, I remembered some sites stating that the hym uses the same calipers as the 1098. So if the 1098S uses the same ones, shld be a good fit. Worst case scenario got to order.

Hi pple,

Just now when I was "trying" my 916 at raymonds plc, I discovered that it takes alot of effort for me to kick to neutral gear. I had just changed e clutch plates and raymond told me that I gotto ride it for sumtime till the plates are thin enough. Is this a common issue for a 916 upon changing to new plates? or are there any alternatives?

Thank You..

Oh yes lanz, I bought e same plates that you've ordered the other time when ur bike is at rays, the barnett plates. Apparently raymond told me that this plates are thick and he recommends me to get e newfren plates nxt time whch is much mre cheaper, 99euros a set. Thanx for the advice.

yo bro,

clutch pack thickness got spec. not every model year the same. All can use, but to perform is a different matter.

Ic ic.. I didn't noe that. So for optimum performance on a 95' 916, any thickness or make would u recommend bro? i'm usin a 30.5mm clutch slave cyl.

The issue with the difficulties to find neutral is due to the clutch disengagement distance.

So there are quite a number of factors that can cause that:

1) clutch thickness

2) Slave cylinder diameter (bigger means less travel distance)

3) Air in the hydraulic system (the neutral gets harder to find after engine gets hot)

4) Worn off clutch housing causing the clutch to bind.

so depending on the cause, the corrective actions differs.

Need to check the workshop manual.

I encounter this before when I bought the clutch pack for 916 for my 998. The pack thinkness is the same (916) but the 998 ones has an additional set of plates. Still can use but when you launch the bike the 916 plates slip more.

that's my experience
