Hi all gurus,

 

Question on clutch, currently using normal clutch plate. 30mm clutch slave.

 

Encounter slip when trying move off at at 1st gear when bike is hot.

When the bike is cold, everything is good.

Rode the bike to work in the morning, no slip when cold. later encounter many traffic stop. Temp reach 100 constantly. Try to move off the bike but keep encounter slip. Only if i really move off at a very slow speed (bicycle speed) then no slip.

 

I know rider will be a problem here but still trying my luck if above situation is normal? Bike cold no slipping is another clue which tell me something is weird.

 

Thought my clutch worn off and try the slow speed with high gear hill climbing but my rpm stay. No slipping.

 

 

Any advise?

 

Check whether the clutch plates are from Barnett. The Barnett clutch plates have all sorts of slipping issues. Change them back to stock.

Any recommendation on where to get to stock plate?

Or maybe where you used to get them from?

I think the oem should be steel plate right? Will problem running them with aluminum basket?

If u use alum basket and alum plates (eg barnett and surflex) they last longer then stock and not as noisy...

i plucked this off the HD forum as it mentioned something about ducati and also because one of our duc's riders got stopped for inspection as well.....

 

 

"they (LTA) are all coming down hard on harleys and ducatis. they might be thinking, those who can afford bigger bikes can pay bigger fines.

 

phython exhaust on a road king is soft on the idle (carb model)... but loud on the throttle.

 

i ever went inspection with bassani, i cleared. bassani is more of bassy.

 

anyway the passing sound on throttle is 99db. anything more, $500 makes a hole in ur pocket.

 

ride safe and please dont give money to the garmen. not worth. i try my best to even avoid erp. why shld i pay erp when i have paid road tax n coe. knn ccb."

Yes bro... I guess fesa was just too excited and got carried away when posting about the ride. I must say its not easy to organise a ride after going for the recce ride that day. He always try to make things swee swee such that there will be no hiccups (i.e. ample parking space, water points, etc). He even archives all rides by printing out all the group photographs.

 

But of course, if you feel uncomfortable with riding on that day then I truly understand your point of view as well. Let's not have any hard feelings within this small riding community that we took time to build. Cheers and ride safe guys.

I think I may be about 10-15 mins late for this ride since going with my family to do voting together in the morning. Hope there's no inconvenience caused to anyone.
